I'm getting ready to run my car in the standing mile in Miami Florida on October 11 and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the space between the mufflers. I would love to see what you are doing to your G and get some good input.

besides that, I just read in Forza magazine that Ferrari F340 GT car is 1st in the FIA world championship series and teams running them also swept Lemans this year 1-3, 6-10 spots (2 in the top 10 were porsche otherwise all ferrari). pretty good result.

It was a good race. Here are the results:

Pos./Drivers/Car/Laps
1. O'Connell/Magnussen, Chevrolet Corvette C6.R, 117
2. Melo/Kaffer, Ferrari 430 GT, 117
3. Gavin/Beretta, Chevrolet Corvette C6.R, 116
4. Henzler/Werner, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, 116
5. Bergmeister/Long, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, 115
6. Farnbacher/James, Panoz Esperante GTLM, 115
7. Law/van Overbeek, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, 115
8. Feinberg/Hall, Dodge Viper, 113
9. Hand/Auberlen, BMW E92 M3, 110
10. Robertson/Robertson/Murry, Ford GT MK 7, 105
11. Mueller/Milner, BMW E92 M3, 71

Ferrari beat Porsche and BMW! It put on a very strong showing.

To be candid, the Ferrari was out there by itself. The vettes were definitely working together, as were the BMWs.

Its just like the 1/4 mile but 1 mile you go from a dead stop with a 1 mile shutdown. I'm hoping to hit 180+. What speed are you going to run 190+ I hope I can get some good ideas from your build.

I want to do the mile bad.....not gonna make it down there in oct, maybe next year in the spring though.

I'm prolly gonna run a 28in tall tire though to get the gearing help...would like to stay in 5th gear at the top end instead of needing 6th.

If you are in the 700rwhp zone 185-190 isn't out of the question at all, as long as you can get her moving and not spin much in 1st, 2nd...

With the set up I'm running now it will reach 199mph at 7,000 RPM at the top of 6th gear. I will need 6th for a second or two. I'm really curious to see what XKR is doing to the underneath of his car for speeds over 200+

I'm just soo leery of pulling any OD gear that hard....gonna be putting a lot of tq through that gear.

best of luck though. I know I'll learn a lot from ya both for next year when I do the mile.

Yes...my plans are to go over 195.......We have done it before....but some changes have to be done to the rear bumper and under where the stock muffler use to sit to maintain those speeds safely.

Where in Miami FL??...If you mentioned it earlier...sorry for asking again...I am on iPhone...

Also...how ofter do they hold this event.....I am sure my cage will not be finished by then

how much speed will you lose during the shift from 5-6? 2-3mph?

I'd say at least...you are moving a lot of air at those speeds (150mph'ish) that will slow you naturally, and the trans is setup so that the 5-6 can't be a "fast" shift

http://milemarker-1.com/ This site will answer all your questions about the event and I'm not really sure how much speed I will loose between 5th & 6th hadn't gone that fast yet.

Almost there! Pics look great. I see the added bungs with saftey wire to prevent the pipes from blowing off.
