so 11psi, what do those results say about:

1 - expected gains at higher boost levels
2 - the power the engine is making

I suck at that so figured someone could do it easily for me

Take a look at post #1543. This first measurement is within 5% of what my spreadsheet calculates. If that continues to hold true, you can get a general indication of what the final boost levels will be.

If anybody wants a copy of the spreadsheet to play with, PM me your e-mail address.

Terry....lol.... The car is not tuned ... All it has is a start up map..... He just posted that because I kept bothering him...he will post a tuned dyno when he is finished.

under 4000 rpms will stay the same, then just have the right hand ff the curve go up and up

for comparison, a typical 18g kit outta forged does 500 at 15 psi.

looks very solid.

hopefully this wakes up people to what the proper sized turbos our cars deserve really is

529 whp on a DD with the startup map

It does not look like you will have any issues getting to your goal.

Assuming all else is the same, a 3.5L motor will need 3.5 psi more boost than a 4.0L motor at 530 whp.

Dont forget that redline is 7500 or 7600 rpms......I am thinking with a proper tune and him running it to redline we will get much more at 11 psi....Sharifs numbers were correct from what I see so far by going with the C8/Gt35r.......Do you think the heads are helping anything at this low level boost?? I was using the 18G comparison also....and what PSI it would take for an 18g to reach 530whp coming out of FP...

the area under the curve befor you spool wont change much when you raise the boost.

that s a super tq curve you have already, 90% of the forum would want that over what they have now.

well actually Jay's 20g was 500 at 15 psi. I had that backwards. so prolly another 1 or 2 psi to hit 530.

considering thatsa only 265 hp/turbo on wheels that should do 400 with ease, you def have a some great potential.

hmm, GTM 35r or SP

Mike, What lag, lol ? Raj is going to lie awake the night before the airstrip worrying about how to beat that torque curve on the starter map setting, oh my and then add the traction control, oh noes. I sure hope it doesn't rain next year in hendersonville 2010 ZdayZ Airstrip.

Sharif, are you sure you installed the correct turbo and engine package in Mike's car ? That torque curve peaks kind of early. Nice start though, now have it all wrapped up by Novemer 6th so I can take it for a spin around the block

I will be camped out in front of Raj's house a few days before ZDayZ. Plus I know that Raj is looking for a shorter runway for the next event

thats all that was posted so far. not terribly surprised about the low boost power (big motor and big turbos), big question is how it looks at twice that pressure

regardless, its a great start! i'd bet its still at least another week or more til we get some mid boost #;s
