Default something I was wondering about ProCHarger

I'm no expert when it comes to forced induction but I have been wondering about the procharger kit. Everyone seems to be making gobs of power from it and the kit itself looks to be very well made. Also the installation should be easy for a decent shop. The problem is the amount of power that the procharger is making is probably pushing the injectors to the limit. I know the fuel pump has been upgraded in the kit but still the injectors are stock. What happens when an injector get just a little clogged or fuel output dips down. With all that air being force fed into the combustion chamber and the injectors already being pushed to the limit wouldn't this be very suspect to detonation. I know that most of the Z's are running fine with the procharger but what happens a little down the line when injectors get clogged or something else to the fuel system. The stock fuel system doesn't seem to be enough. I could be wrong maybe the injectors are huge but most car manufactures will only put in inectors that can handle maybe 30-40% more power. I really would like to supercharge my Z but not sure I would do it without upgrading the injectors and re-mapping the fuel curves maybe even lower the compression of the motor ( they are fairly high compression)

TechnoSq saw a 95% duty cycle on stock injectors at moderately low boost pressures...

imho.. its a remap of the A/F &/or swap is the way to go for higher psi levels... compression on the motor isnt THAT bad...

pitty the prices for new injectors are relatively high.

it's a good thing we only have 6 cylinders at $87-$180 a piece for injectors.

95% duty cycle! Wow, that's high. That's another reason why I am leading towards the Greddy Turbo kit over Pro Charger. Like I stated before, 440cc injectors will be good enough to handle 8psi no problem. And even than you can upgrade your fuel pump too. Greddy should be the best bang and reliability for your money. Im sure most will argue this but its a well design kit for the money. Plus its free horsepower not belt driven that takes your HP away...

this is probably why that last guy blew his #6 piston.

I was thinking the exact same thing! I wouldn't be surprised at all If both Max and ravaz had an injector fail. That would absolutely account for his low RPM vibration/roughness.

Duty Cycle doesn't mean squat unless you give specifics. ( RPM, LOAD, BASE FUEL PRESS, INJECTOR TRIM, BOOST LEVEL, MOTOR AIR FLOW NUMBERS, ETC, ETC,ETC ) So I hope that all don't think just cause one person says it's 95% under moderate boost, thats all they have left in them.

Maybe at 45psi, with moderate boost they were at 95%. I could see that and would agree with it 100%. But for something like the ATI kit, FP's with moderate boost can be 80psi or above.

Think about this simple example.

1 second pulse @ 45psi
1 second pulse @ 80psi

Which do you think flows more? And notice what doesn't change. Duty Cycle stays the same. FYI on the new style injectors, they are not going to get hurt by 80,100,110+ in fuel pressure. And not in a short time, plain and simple. As far as the dirt in the system thing, ALWAYS change your Fuel filter! Anytime you add a turbo or a blower, or even N20. A fresh fuel filter should be the first thing on your list. And for the price (cheap) it's a nice peice of mind.

The reason for the rough idle on the car... Well if it has low compression on a piston...They SHAKE!

sorry for the confusion. i'll find out exactly at what PSI the 95% duty cycle was coming from, but they were stressing that it was reaching the fuel limit of the stock injectors...
