There are a few other turbos that can be done, but the install has to be done by Intense.

Sorry guys for not posting in a few days. I came down with a stomach virus that knocked me out for the past few days. I'll post some more pics up tonight. Nothing major though. I'm gonna take the rest of the parts I need from the donor car today and swap tails and headlights (06s). Too bad he already sold his tanny. I should be off all week hopefully (work) so I'll be doing most of the work during the week without the aid of my experienced friends but I have the manual now and thanks to all that have been kind enough to post their installs I think I should be fine. Plus, I always have a couple of life lines.

Do you guys think I should invest in a catch can kit in case of crankcase pressure? I'm affraid that I may run into this. What do you guys think?

The catch can is good, but crankcase pressure should not be an issue if the motor is healthy.

Interesting,
Maybe I should test compression? What else can I do?

So many honey do's today but swapped out Plenum, injectors, and picked up a plenum spacer but am missing some bolts. I'll look into buying some tomorrow.

Also, polished out my Headlights to get ready for the 06 swap.

Spent some time looking for my stock plenum. I remember reading that the Kinetix V4 wont handle FI.

Upper Plenum removed

Ready to remove injectors and fuel rail.

Oem injectors

Powerlab injectors

Hercules wondering what I'm doing to my car

Tomorrows another day.

Waiting on fuel pump, spark plugs, one 2.5" v band, and boost controller.

I'll start Pulling out the tranny to swap clutch and flywheel.

I hope you have a means or a plan to help you remove and lift the transmission. Most of the weight is towards the rear. The front is a hollow bell housing.
In one of my earlier rookie attempts I tried to utilize the help of 3 guys to get the tranny back in place---> FAIL!!! Its quite heavy!
So I purchased a $35 Tranny jack from e-bay to help get the job done. Now it only takes 3 hours for me to do a clutch swap with the assistance of that jack. I can do it alone. Just a word of advice.
Good Luck.

I might be doing this alone since it is during the week and it has crossed my mind to invest in a tranny jack. My friend and I have replaced the trannies several times with no jack but yeah your right it is heavy. Usually, we slide it back then drop (lower) the bell on the ground then drag it forward little by little. It'll take a while to get that tranny jack delivered so maybe I'll pick one up at the local Harbor Freight. I believe they cost about 20 more dollars.

Thanks.

Progress Report

I'd figure to have more done by now but ohwell. Things come up when you on vacation.

So far I've done:

Radiator (thrown in the bundle)
fuel pump
injectors
Plenum OEM
Plenum Spacer
Intercooler
Relocation of PS cooler and Reservior
Oil Pan Spacer
Headlight/Tail Swap
New Belts

Still Pending:
All Exhaust/Turbo items
Oil/vacum/AC lines
Spark Plugs
Utec/Tuner/Wideband/BoostGauge/MapSelector/MapSensor (Run and Hook everything up)
New Clutch/Flywheel (not looking forward to this)
Tune

There is a lot still pending but a little at a time...............

Couldn't place sensor any other way. I will look for pics of other builds. Any suggestions though.

Relocation of the Horns

Had to bend and cut the corner of the brackets

Relocating the PS Cooler. I followed what Jeffie did. Thanks Jeffie! Using the Vice Gripps to bend the bracket just enough.

PS Cooler Bracketry

OEM/Aftermarket Radiator:Can't really notice it when in place.

Radiator gets covered by fans afterward

My buddy Alex tackling the fuel pump!

Test fitting some of the piping

Test fitting for PS cooler and reservior

Donor Car

Donor Car Inside:

I'll take some more pics of the rest in the days to come

Just to revive this thread of mine. I really haven't gotten that much done since last but the clutch and flywheel are in place finally. No Jack required just an experienced helping hand. That sucker is heavy! Anyways delays delays delays.....

Three clutch cover bolts stripped on the flywheel and I had to tap and hela coil them. I guess thats what can happen when you take used pieces of equipment of friend's hands. I also had to redo the IC piping and adjust the IC. My hood wasn't closing. Now I find out that I didn't receive the oil pick up spacer and my oil pan and spacer are in place. Gotta redo the whole thing again.

To top it off I'm having trouble with the mid pipe fitting properly. I just read on another thread that there are some bending of lines and cutting of the engine housing required. I also hope I didn't get one of those bad pipe that need to be cut extended and welded back..... I'll continue again this weekend with some updated pics. Not of the tranny removal because there was no time and no free hand available to snap some pics.

By the way, do you guys recommend 1 step colder or 2 step colder plugs?

Also, I've been using Mobil 1 full synthetic oil should I switch to Royal Purple or another brand and should I use 10w 40 now? We see 100 degree temperatures down here almost everyday during summer.

Thanks for you'alls input.
