Another DIY successs

Got back from tuning yesterday.

It was a long journey from the beginning of the build to the end but now its over with positive results. Took the car to Project PTP (Protech) in Austin. I went in there for a 6 & 8 psi tune.

Before I release the the final numbers, I need to give you guys some details of the day.

1st and most importantly the tuning session was cut short due to an exhaust leak. So the numbers more than likely should have been a bit higher. Because of this exhaust leak I wasn't able to hold the boost levels throughout the hole run. Before the exhaust leak got to out of hand, John, (tuner) was able to tune for 8lbs. But, he did say that I was not holding the 8 lbs throughout the run. It peaked at 8 then drop to 7,6. He mentioned to me that those numbers could probably be closer to 390ish. This was all because of a stupid bolt I used to plug the O2 bung on the exhaust manifold. It started coming loose until it just popped out. If anyone built the kit themselves it is a B$%^t to get to that bung so the car came off the dyno and never went back on. I got it fixed there under the HOT sun but it did take me about an hour. luckily Johns shop had an O2 plug on hand.
I was just about to get a 10 lb tune too. Next time

So the final number are:

377 hp & 356 torque

If it wasn't for the exhaust leak, I'm sure they would have been higher. Ohwell, I know its higher now that its fixed. I'm happy with how everything turned out overall. The car feels awsome! ATX thanks for hanging out with us and good luck on your build.

I'll post some vids soon but ATX350 posted this one for me.

I think so! Congrats on the build and finally getting her tuned. I can only imagine the feeling. In fact, I bet he's out driving the car around town. That's what I'd do at this moment

Good to hear! I'm definetely happy with the way John performed the tuning. Took his time and really showed enthusiasm in what he does. ATX should be getting his Powerlab kit soon. Not sure where he will be taking his car yet. He is trying to decide. My buddy has the turbonetics and will be purchasing the S1 block soon. We'll be back soon to Protech for his tune. He is looking to get 450-500 rwhp.

Anyone have some 600cc injectors they want to sell? He is going to need some.

Note: If anyone is going to take their car there anytime soon. remove sideskirts or any after market bodykits. They have an elevated AWD and anything lower than stock will hit when getting vehicle onto dyno. I unfortunately suffered minor damage from that.

Yes, mine! After taking about 200 pictures of Dave's setup/tune and hitting up protech I feel much more confident. The kit should be coming in next week and I'll make sure to send you PM's for any problems I encounter slidefox :P

Good to know they are confident with VQ's however it made me a little apprehensive to know John wasn't as familiar with UTEC. Right now its between Protech and Jtran studios. We'll see....
