MOTOR BLEW today
Does this really matter about julian. I don't think the utec was the cause for the failure. A VQ DE can fail at any time once it has FI applied to it of any kind. That is a fact that all owners have to deal with. go-fast you seem to have a beef with julian since he is not here why beat a dead horse? Besides aren't you the one who hides behind your name and claim to be a engine builder, but won't devulge who you are and are quick to judge others? See what I mean? All this BS has nothing to do with the OP's thread. Lately a lot of people have been blaming the utec for motor and electrical problems.
damn 3 post wasted going off topic. keep thread on topic. sorry OP.
Great deeds are usually wrought at great risks.
Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of small things brought together
He that is over-cautious will accomplish little.
I don't want to come to the end of my life and find that I have just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.
I would rather fail in a cause that will ultimately triumph than to triumph in a cause that will ultimately fail.
I would rather fail in an attempt at something new and uncharted than safely succeed in a repeat of something I have done.
If the creator had a purpose in equipping us with a neck, he surely meant us to stick it out.
If you don’t make things happen, things will happen to you.
If you don't risk anything, you risk even more.
If you want to achieve a high goal, you're going to have to take some chances.
Encouraged people achieve the best; dominated people achieve second best; neglected people achieve the least.
Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.
if you're so curious.. either call julian or jermaine and ask them about his expertise with UTEC's.. and 15? come on man... Julian maybe tuned 15 UTEC's in one day at a BBQ.. but overall? at least you could get your facts straight before you throw a number out there like that.
So let me ask you this? just because someone had a prior profession that makes them less qualified to tune a car? You should go look at Sharif and Todd's first posts on this board.. they were asking alot of noob questions, they had no idea what they were doing.. then they learned how to tune..
Just as AthenG and Gothchick will post.. tuning a car isn't rocket science.. it just takes alot of time and energy to get it right... and quite fankly based on the amount of people who have blown up Z's and G's.. there is no question if Julian is one of the top UTEC Tuners in teh country.. you think its bullsh!t? ask anyone on this forums who actually has been here and knows what the fck they are talking about.. they will tell you Julian was an a-hole.. but when it came to tuning UTEC's.. he did a damn good job.. ask Sam.. ask Sharif.. say what you want about Julian, but you can't take away his tuning ability

2 years part time does not make a seasoned tuner... (less than part time if you count the energy he wasted on here being an a-hole).i stand by 15-20 maps being a generous estimate.
i would agree he has put his fingers on a few utecs and could be considered competent, but "top tuner" forced me out of retirement
lol @ you again. i speak to him and regularly check up on what hes up to. just because my post counts arent as high as yours doesnt mean i dont know what im saying. u think julian only tuned people on these boards? lol zip it and dont make yourself look like noob. lol

do you guy's shake hands when you meet up?
Does this really matter about julian.
if the words top tuner are used...yes
I don't think the utec was the cause for the failure.
maybe,maybe not
A VQ DE can fail at any time once it has FI applied to it of any kind.
i agree completely
That is a fact that all owners have to deal with. go-fast you seem to have a beef with julian since he is not here why beat a dead horse?
cause he's a pos and and moved through this forum like a sledgehammer, threatening to sue anyone who disagreed with him
Besides aren't you the one who hides behind your name and claim to be a engine builder, but won't devulge who you are and are quick to judge others?
yup,that's me
See what I mean? All this BS has nothing to do with the OP's thread.
if a utec rattled his motor apart and julian tuned it the conversation is on topic.if the utec tune is going to be dissmissed as a possible cause due to the fact a "top tuner" did the work,we should really explore doug's definition of a top tuner
Lately a lot of people have been blaming the utec for motor and electrical problems.
people pointing out the shortcomings of utec are as old as the utec itself, mix this with someone with limited experience(poo fingers)and again...on topic

Hey willie billie, The guy sent me pictures of the back of the motor. However, im not sure this is gonna work unless you ONLY use the shortblock and swap the oil pans, heads and everythign else. Can anyone verify if this will bolt right up.
^^ i'm not sure either.. i know when one of julian's customers had blown his motor.. he had an 03 G and the customer got a great deal and bought a 05 G (Rev-Up) Motor and it didn't work
Ok i think it might work actually. if you do buy that long block, just use the shortblock and sell everything else to make your money back. If your upper oil pan is damaged, i can give you my spare one which even has a bung welded in for the TN oil return.
I love the non-revup oil pan because you can put the starter on either side!!! Good for me! Useless for most in the US tho! lol.
