Does this really matter about julian. I don't think the utec was the cause for the failure. A VQ DE can fail at any time once it has FI applied to it of any kind. That is a fact that all owners have to deal with. go-fast you seem to have a beef with julian since he is not here why beat a dead horse? Besides aren't you the one who hides behind your name and claim to be a engine builder, but won't devulge who you are and are quick to judge others? See what I mean? All this BS has nothing to do with the OP's thread. Lately a lot of people have been blaming the utec for motor and electrical problems.

Much appreciated warning! I'll just keep my 'O4 Touring Coupe bone stock, I guess. Thanks to posts like these I'm fully convinced about that!

So let me ask you this? just because someone had a prior profession that makes them less qualified to tune a car? You should go look at Sharif and Todd's first posts on this board.. they were asking alot of noob questions, they had no idea what they were doing.. then they learned how to tune..

Just as AthenG and Gothchick will post.. tuning a car isn't rocket science.. it just takes alot of time and energy to get it right... and quite fankly based on the amount of people who have blown up Z's and G's.. there is no question if Julian is one of the top UTEC Tuners in teh country.. you think its bullsh!t? ask anyone on this forums who actually has been here and knows what the fck they are talking about.. they will tell you Julian was an a-hole.. but when it came to tuning UTEC's.. he did a damn good job.. ask Sam.. ask Sharif.. say what you want about Julian, but you can't take away his tuning ability
adding some timing at a bbq is tweaking not tuning, when julian had to actually build a map for a new combo he just about wore out the phone calling sam, jeremy or sharif....and you know this maannn!

2 years part time does not make a seasoned tuner... (less than part time if you count the energy he wasted on here being an a-hole).i stand by 15-20 maps being a generous estimate.

i would agree he has put his fingers on a few utecs and could be considered competent, but "top tuner" forced me out of retirement

let me guess, you tell him how great he is,and then it's his turn to tell you how great he is.then he tells you how it's everybody else's fault and he's not really an a-hole.

do you guy's shake hands when you meet up?

maybe,maybe not

i agree completely

That is a fact that all owners have to deal with. go-fast you seem to have a beef with julian since he is not here why beat a dead horse?

cause he's a pos and and moved through this forum like a sledgehammer, threatening to sue anyone who disagreed with him

Besides aren't you the one who hides behind your name and claim to be a engine builder, but won't devulge who you are and are quick to judge others?

yup,that's me

See what I mean? All this BS has nothing to do with the OP's thread.

if a utec rattled his motor apart and julian tuned it the conversation is on topic.if the utec tune is going to be dissmissed as a possible cause due to the fact a "top tuner" did the work,we should really explore doug's definition of a top tuner

Lately a lot of people have been blaming the utec for motor and electrical problems.

people pointing out the shortcomings of utec are as old as the utec itself, mix this with someone with limited experience(poo fingers)and again...on topic

just because he put top tuner in his sig doesn't make it so

Guys, please keep this on topic and not about Julian. We all know we don't need another one of those threads.

Hey willie billie, The guy sent me pictures of the back of the motor. However, im not sure this is gonna work unless you ONLY use the shortblock and swap the oil pans, heads and everythign else. Can anyone verify if this will bolt right up.

Ok i think it might work actually. if you do buy that long block, just use the shortblock and sell everything else to make your money back. If your upper oil pan is damaged, i can give you my spare one which even has a bung welded in for the TN oil return.

I love the non-revup oil pan because you can put the starter on either side!!! Good for me! Useless for most in the US tho! lol.
