FI or bike?

I was just curious how many of you guys would ever sell your FI stock block setup for the purchasing of a bike. I'm currently toying with the idea but I'm wondering if you guys know some plus and minuses that I may have overlooked.
I have a vortech kit w/ some supporting mods btw.

The substantially higher probability of serious injury or death associated with motorcycle wrecks is enough reason for me to not consider getting a bike.

I have both, a TT setup and a Yamaha R1. I hardly ride my bike anymore since I got the Z. Bikes are fun, but VERY unpractical to carry anything and anyone that has been caught in a heavy rain will tell you it is no fun at all and raindrops hurt at 40+mph.
On the upside, you can beat on a bike all day and they very rarely break and 100+mph on a bike is a real rush. The downside is that once you wreck, you are always a bit more cautious of going down again (unless you are very young or very stupid).
IMO the TT>Bike, but I don't know about a SC
. I'm sure Alberto will have the opposite opinion, his bike is his new toy.

"He who dies with the most toys wins". I miss my bike very much. There is nothing better to me than leaning a bike over in a corner with confidence. Keep both, a decision like that on beautiful day is something to smile about by itself.

Rule of thumb. If you have to sell one thing just to get something else than u cant afford it to begin with.. Had a 2009 Honda CBR 1000. Then i was a HIT&RUN victim.. broke my arm, ankle, lower back. Im lucky to be alive. DR and Traffic Investigator both agreed that at a bare minimum i should of been paralyzed if not dead
.
Do i miss it? F**K YEAH!!! Will i ride again one day? HELL YES.. Anytime soon? NOPE.. No matter how good a driver you are, other people suck..lol. I cringe when i see other riders and cars next to them.. Ive done countless stunts and highway runs and just thinking about it now gets my stomach weezy.
Out of everything what hit me the hardest is the day the DR told me i shoulda died or been paralyzed was the SAME day I found out I was gonna be a DAD..
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be super careful guys.. I been riding for years and it still happened! Was my 1st accident EVER on a bike and look how serious it was..

I guess 2 things are pretty certain with both.
1) You will eventually wreck the bike. It may be serious it may not.
2) You will eventually have motor failure with your FI setup. It may be serious it may not.
Which seems worse?

I was in a bad accident a year and a half ago (golf cart+beers) and almost amputated my left foot. Just not being able to walk for a few weeks and all the rehab involved has changed the way I ride. I'm so aware of how it feels to get hurt and all the work involved in recovery that I don't even come close to pushing the edge on my bike anymore.

A big +1 on other drivers scaring me. I had an old man pull out in front of me and I ended up doing a stoppie that almost put me on his hood. Had a soccer mom slide her station wagon completely sideways because she didn't see me sitting at a stoplight (that scared the **** out of me), her car was sideways across the road and slid to a stop about 15 feet away.

A bike and FI are two different things.. you can't comparing the two.. if you ride a motorcycle for the sport.. the experience is totally different.. when me and my buddies go on rides.. we will do 500 to 600 miles a weekend.. just seeing the sights.. going from state to state enjoying ourselves.. its a whole different experience.. we don't ride our bikes to go fast.. we ride our bikes for the experience.. and FI speed can't compare to motorcycle speed.. the motorcycle is a whole different rush

Even though I don't own a bike yet I purchased all my riding gear at my job already. I have a Shoei Rf-1000, Dianese gloves, jacket, riding boots, and back protector. ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Love the Gixxer man. And sorry I assumed that you guys had cruisers or touring bikes. But if you guys go on runs like that for that long then thats awesome! How long have you been riding for? Oh and I definitely plan on taking the MSF course.

however there are 4 types of motorcycle riders in my opinion.. 1) Commuters ... 2) posers... 3) riders of the sport... 4) track junkies
Commuters - usually not wearing much gear if at all.. and use their bike soley for commuting.. i hardly see these guys when i ride becuase they only ride during work hours
Posers - usually not wearing any gear at all.. squids.. they never get on the highway.. they ride from one bike spot to the next to pick up chicks.. usually have their bikes for 3 or more years with less than 1000 miles on it.. or maybe do 200 miles a season.
Riders of the Sport - These guys ride anything.. sport bikes.. cruisers.. touring.. gold wings.. We usually meet up with these guys at Marcus Dairy in Danbury, CT every sunday.. you see ages from 16 to 70 .. its fun to see a guy pull up on the latest model sportbike.. full leathers and the helmet comes off and he is 60.. that just shows you how much these guys love riding.. some guys come down from Toronto .. some come up from South Carolina.. real riders.. guys who have more miles on their bikes than cars.. these guys are usually wearing full leathers or damn close to it.
Track Junkies - These guys love the track.. never ride on the street because its boring to them.. trailor their bikes to the track and have fun all day long, but thats the only place they ride
