With a SC timing is the key to TQ. That's why most SC guys run water/meth.

any tips on what timing to run? i'm pulling 9 degrees up top at 11psi and it runs great, but who doesn't need extra torque??

^^ replaced seals. It was spraying oil out the back of the blower and we think it was causing belt slip

geez nice guys I'm nervous as I'm about to order test pipes soon as I get a call back...that will lower my pressure so boost will go down but I will go UP in power right? I don't want to loose to much back pressure and then loose power. I'm at 395/359 (I want to go check one of these inflated dyno's and see what I can't pull ) I'm hoping the test pipes will push me to like 410/375

I dont think that the impeller will withstand speeds that high, at least the stock one, but I got it anyways because I plan to upgrade down the line to the 928.

My next step is the 928 and I would like to take it to 7K

oh and I got my bearings from Todd, www.superchargersrebuilds.com
did anyone do the 928 impeller upgrade and what's your experience. doing some searching on google and the first thing i came up with is this....

I don't know. As a universal performance modification I tested and got results that should have been typical for any car. Not to say that a stock vortech 350z would make the same whp at the same impeller rpm I did but the results should be comparable for before and after.

I want the 928!

anyways..

UPDATE: The blower is back in the car and everything is running good, and it sounds like a monster!.. I did the new belt setup and I got the 81" and I think its too big because even though it looks SO tight, it comes out about 1 rib from the pulley ? weird. Im gonna figure it out tomorrow. an im only seeing 5psi??? BLAH.

How do you guys tighten up the cog belt? Do you have somebody else push down on it while you tight it? its like impossible to do it your self lol

I don't know, i didn't even move cog tensioner pulley. It was tight but it did fit.

how did u get the belt in? Any ideas what could cause hitting only 5psi with the 2.87? It was fine before.. now this. probably something with the belts.. my boost gauge just stays rock solid at 5 psi at 6600rpm. should be 10-12

OK, so how long have you been running this impeller. Reliability was in question in that link i posted. if you do have comparisons before/after.....would be great.

Was it full throttle from low rpms?
Belt tight enough? Any boost leaking?
You should see atleast 10psi+ at redline.

About belt. Well... at first, I thought it aint going in, but it did go in.

That dude is a piece a ****. He stated that his impeller cracked because of craftsmanship and forgot to mention that he doesn't run a bypass valve on his supercharger. In fact, he didn't even know what one was! Cracked impellers and bad bearings is what happens when you have compressor surge. I'm sorry but he is one of those guys that should not have wrenchs to work on his own car.

Reliability is not an issue at all. The impeller was designed by one of the best impeller designing companies in the United States and machined by one of the best impeller manufacturers in the United States. Not only that but it was overspun tested to well over 60,000 rpm's. The same impeller that was overspun was the one I had in my car.

The other thing is that the impeller blade is bent inward on that guys impeller. That means he hit it or he sucked something into the supercharger. The impeller is designed so that the normal stresses that an impeller sees are channeled through strong areas. This engineering allows for thinner blades and more aggressive design which make more power. However, go figure that some sort of impact that is not normal may damage it.

The 928M impeller is a high quality performance impeller that was designed to the limit of what you can do reliably and without modifying the volute. I would vouch for it any day because I was part of the whole development process and I am well aware of the stupid amount of time, money and testing that went into it. I know the companies that made it and there is a number of other types of vehicles that are running them without problems at all.

Unfortunately, this persistant POS has made it his goal to do everything he can to not take the blame and has in doing so hurt 928M's reputation.
