Default We need a 3D model of a G35 Coupe

MODS, PLEASE LEAVE THIS THREAD HERE IN THE FI SECTION BECAUSE IT PERTAINS TO THE UNDERBODY DESIGN WE ARE WORKING ON FOR FI CARS.

I'm trying to locate a 3D model of the G35 Coupe body that I can import into SymLab. I have various underbody designs that I want to model on the car in order to determine the amount of downforce we will get from various underbody concepts. SymLab will import the following file formats:

*.brep, *.igs, *.iges, *.obj, *.stl, *.stp and *.step

If anyone has such a model they are willing to share, please PM me.

Thank you. I had found that one. It is the best model I have seen so for (the others I had found looked like RX-8's with G35 grills and headlights), but it is not in the correct file format. I'll contact them on Monday to see if they can export it to a file format that Symlab can use.

I can convert the .3ds file to a .obj if you like... LMK if you need anything.

Since the construction tools for generating 3D models in SymLab are so rudimentary, it would be great if someone could also take one of the off-shelf-G35 models and modify it with my underbody concepts. Is this something you can/would do?

Depending on the time needed/ available I have at the time., and if the trace-implementation of the diffuser onto the model is purely conceptual and won't be used for the measuring or fabrication of any kind. Also keep in mind if the end product you're searching for is going to ran through a series of simulated tests via Symlab.... the model probably need to be constructed in a very neat/particular way w/ no open edges or floating verts...wacky geo of any kind. Unfort., this is not the case w/ most internet downloadable models and quite abit of rebuild time would be involved fixing the model to get it to import properly for the needed tests. If the testing and precision is your end goal, I would look for a symlab, cad, or pro-E artist who would actually build the bottom chassis of the vehicle inside one of those packages instead of pulling the model from a more contemporary/ entertainment package found on the web..

I was playing with SymLab, but the construction tools are very rudimentary and it would take forever to produce a full model.

EDIT: Note that for our fluid modelling, we don't care about the stock underbody. We will be completely enclosing the underbody with our pieces.

The front bumper design would need to be changed, and the rear bumper modified. In addition, our underbody components need to be added.

Other than that, what is missing? One note, it will be an entirely enclosed underbody with strategically placed NACA ducts for cooling the transmission and rear differential.
