I know you can put HR heads on a DE, but I don't know about the other way around. Swap the Autronic for a ViPEC and you could control both sets of cams I believe.
Have you been running an HR motor w/o the variable cams already?

As this is a race motor I asume you are using new cams. Just lock up the exhaust cam in the degree position that gives the most power on the dyno in your intended rev range. It will throw a CEL but no problems on a racecar
