Thanks guys, Maybe the title I made is a little too aggressive but I felt it was what I was trying to do. Either way Im not trying to knock anyones previous build in anyway at all, Ive learned a lot from people on here and now Im trying to return the favor.
I like the OP and no offense, but to be honest, my feelings regarding threads like this are that, its a dreamer thread when you post about something before its done.
Im not saying the OP wont build his block. Im not saying he wont make 600+whp, Im not saying he wont hit his 700+whp goal, but to have a title such as this, inside of this community which is rather boring and thrives on threads like this, he should have a dyno sheet ready and a mods list to back it up, not the other way around!
edit-trust me I know how exciting it is to have something like this in the works, or to have just dropped off your car at a shop. But people shouldnt post threads until the car is not only DONE, but also after initial driving/shop impressions, AND then follow it up with issues. We have TONS of "I just dropped my car off at XXX shop, and I am building my block" threads with very little actual backup.
Share with the community when you have actually proven something, and have some helpful informative info, not when you just picked a bunch of mods and havent even picked up/finished your car yet.

there is not reason he wont hit his power goals on race gas.
just keep turning up the boost and the timing. but we are all assuming you are going to beat on this 700hp car just as hard as you did your current setup. anyone can make a 1 time dyno pass.
but ya +1 on dreamer's threads. Post when you are done. We know you are excited. But you are quite a ways away from having any kind of update or any inkling of validity to the title.

Potentially speaking, we know the 20G's should be good for 750+whp easy.
I have yet to see a LEGIT 3.5L dyno, with 20G's making that kind of power. This community is slow in general, compared to the potential some of these shops have to push limits IMO.
This build will tell us a lot about 20G setups and cam selection, I do look forward to the results, I just dont like to be teased...

I'm not even getting into his power goals.. i'm getting into the whole all this can be done for cheap.. Craig had the same argument and he got shut down really quick.. and in the long run ended up spending more money than the majority of us..
See the biggest misconception is that you spend 20k drop your car off at a shop and thats the end of it.. you see that Shop Builds Forum? how all those builds look great and beautiful? they need to have a forum for impressions 1 year after those glorious builds.. it ain't so pretty.. and the money you spend for maintenance and simple little bullsh!t .. a small example.. i spent over $500 chasing a problem Alberto fixed in 2 seconds.. that cost me less than $50 .. and that was a worn dipstick..
Another big misconception i take offense to with alot of guys who DIY is that alot of us guys that paid for it don't know **** about our cars.. Personally some of us paid for it because 1) we can afford to do it and 2) we don't have the time to 'DIY'
more power to you and your project.. but you arn't 1/4 of the way there yet.. so that statement was a little out there.. keep in mind.. after your car is built and you have made your numbers.. you're still only 1/2 of the way into your spending.. just an FYI

Good points Doug. There should be a thread where the "longer term" FI built guys can go to and vent about the stupid costs of ownership, and the headaches that WILL develop after the car is built. Now possibly coming into my 3rd rebuild, the first fix was 1/2 the price of the original build! Most people dont realize how much $$$ or if you have it, the TIME will go into maintaining these cars. I will admit, I had no idea 3 yrs ago either. Sorry for the hijack, that is for another thread.
I think this is meant more as a work build (Step by step) thread.
No one can come close to what has happened with you Alberto
others like me just want to do their own build from scratch and
document it for future reference for the guys here.
I see alot of numbers posted but not the technological know how
that you see in a lot of DSM forums. People bashing and putting others down
that are willing to DIY instead of just opening their pocket books (No Offense).
Example:
I threw XXX mods in my car and I'm making WHP just don't cut it anymore.
The information should be more like this
I bought XXX mods and I had to do this to make it work and I ran into this problem and this a solution that you can try if you run into this problem.

No Offense.. but half of you are ignorant to what happens behind the scenes here.. Some people stick it out.. Some people build stronger.. and the majority of the guys sell their cars..
Again.. nothing against guys who DIY .. not all of us have the time to do the work.. and even you.. you've been FI about the same time as Rome and myself.. whats that? back in 2006? and 3 years later you're starting to build your block? most of us don't have your time or patience.. Again.. don't assume because we pay for it.. means we can't do it.. I have air tools.. i've swapped motors.. i've swapped transmissions.. recently i've done the brakes on my Z and my gf's altima.. this stuff is easy to me.. Time is what i don't have..
Good luck with your plans/project..
OFF TOPIC - id feel retarded starting a long term built motor thread when im still building my stock block. I have some questions about it for sure for you guys. I had very few stock block issues, but would def appreciate a thread by you guys to get a heads up on what to expect.

Alberto's situation is alot more common that you know.. no offense to you stock block guys.. but alot of us have had more problems after being built than when we were on stock block.. you ever wondered why 90% of the people on this forum shortly after building their cars are selling them?

People will stay ignorant if the information is not shared to the masses.
OT... So who does have the most miles on their original built motor?
I have 15k so far, but I'm only running around 500whp. I just don't want the headaches a lot of you higher hp guys have gone through.

I'm very close to you, I think I have about 14K on my built motor.
I'm sure jt has a pretty good idea of cost of ownership for one of these as he has been boosted for quite some time, and pushed the car hard enough that he accepted the fact that he may have a failure at any time. It's easy for me to say that though since I have known him for a while and I see how he drives the car, as Cass has attested to earlier.
As for long term, I have 24K on my built engine TT car in the past 13 months. Not the longest amount of time, but I'm sure I put more miles on my car than most in such a short amount of time. I beat on it constantly. I'm also halfway through my 3rd set of rear tires if that is any indicator. Of course, you could just ask Sharif about how I drive the car... sometimes sideways trying to merge onto the highway.
Not once has it failed to start, left me sit, or even missed a beat for that matter. It has never even given me a reason to question it's reliability at any time and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it right now and do a 2000 mile round trip, as I have a few times in this car as it sits.
I'm failing to see where all the extra cost of ownership of such a car is coming from. I change the oil every 5K miles, clean the air fliters every other oil change, swap the sparkplugs every 20k and the tires when they're bald. A little bit of extra time here and there during oil changes to inspect oil and coolant lines, and also the intercooler piping. Really it there isn't much more to it when it is built and tuned properly, here in my world anyhow.
Maybe I'm just numb to it from owning a DSM for the better part of a decade.
