My .02. From what I know Top Secrets G35 with the TT VK45 has accomplished 215+ mph with the stock trans but I am uncertain of what gear and fd they used. As I stated earlier you need aero. Top Secrets G uses an off the shelf kit that is wind tunnel tested. That's the aero that will take you another 10 mph or more top end.
Also on another forum I was reading a discussion on how some people believe the Supra is capable of going so fast because in development they built the car to withstand well over 200 mph. So if you talk to them there is only so much to adapt to your G before you hit manufacturer discrepancies.
Also adding more power would do the trick but imagine how much stronger you hit the wall at 200 mph vs 191 mph. You need to be as smooth as butter.
Quick story 9ff built a 996TT 911 to beat the old McLaren's record of 240.1 mph. With 833 bhp their first run was 228 mph, second, 225, and their last run recorded 241.1 mph. They only changed aero on all the runs. That shows how important aero is.

Mike...... I was talking to JOsh the other week, and he was telling about you guys going to the next milemarker-1.com event. Sounds like a good time! I hope you can accompish your goals!
Question for you though....... you stated you Hp and TQ numbers back on the 1st page. I noticed that the torque was a little higher than the HP.....that's usually an idicator that you aren't making peak power much higher than about 6000 rpms (since HP is a mathematical derivative of Torque and RPM). You also stated that you will need to rev out 6th gear to close to 7500 rpms. It would seem to me that you are going to to be well past your optimal power band while going for 200. You might want to look into some taller race tires if you can't get a taller (lower numercial) gear set.

Thanks everyone for the very interesting information that's why I post on this site great feedback you guys are all about going fast. I was always worried about 6th gear and after seeing that photo I'm really worried about it just don't know what can be done not a lot of options for this transmission that I know of.

The timing equipment was all over the place I couldn't get a straight answer from them so I am relying on f-con data and calculations to get me close.
Yes the car did make more torque then hp the car is making more then 600 I just don't have a dyno sheet to prove it. After this race I will take it for 24psi pull on the dyno to see what it will put down.

If you really want to spend the $$$ though, there are a number of custom gear manufacturers who will work with you on a custom, stronger piece. I worked with PAR on custom 3rd and 4th gears and we prototyped them in BriGuyMax's transmission and they turned out wonderful, no more worrying about 3rd gear or 4th gear coming apart. 6th gear would be quite a but more expensive though because 6th gear is built in to the shaft, so you'd have to do a whole shaft. Probably looking at a minimum of $1500-2000 for just the parts (6th gear alone, more if you wanted other gears done too obviously.) It's not something I think you'll have a problem with though.

I built race transmissions for 3.5 years including a couple Bonneville top speed cars (we built the trans in a record setting galant VR-4 for example) and to be honest I wouldn't worry about it in a 1 mile run. 6th gear is in the grand scheme of things pretty beefy, it is much bigger than most cars' 6th gear is. Also you'll be in it for such a brief amount of time in a 1 mile run you won't put much heat in it. It's still a strong gear, the rest of them are just even stronger.

295/30R19 is the tire on running a 3.3 diff would definitely work just don't have the time. 7500 RPM's on the C2's is about it from what I was told.

not knowing where they decided to give up of course,
but shows what aero (and gearing) gets you:
400 less bhp and 10mph more outta the Enzo.....and with the same power as the Cuda the SSC Aero did almost 260mph (don't know if it could do it on that distance of course).
