guys i need some one to explain to me why would a Z/G won't make it to 200mph+ with the given power of 650whp or less. where other cars that u can see in the links below made 200+mph some with similar power and more wight other with less power and more wight still made it.

my Q is i don't think a z/g need 700/800whp to reach this goal while other cars made it with way less HP. is it the gearing ? if so would a deferent final drive fix this other that 3.3 ( custom ) perhaps ?

z aerodynamic with Ing lone nose and body kit made it to 200mph so will that set the bar as far as aerodynamic ?? not sure about under diffuser

am not saying in standing mile .. if given greater distant

z350 200mph+ hp ??

Yup, in 1 mile you are going to need between 750-800rwhp at a minimum to hit 200mph.....and if you are going to be shifting to 6th gear to achieve this, plan on more power.

+10000 to the post above..... OP... I guess you did not read my post. I mentioned before that any car can go 200mph even a Ford Pinto if there is no limit on miles......It takes a lot of power, traction and aero to do it in 1 mile.

I have tried it in most of the super cars out there and only ome with a TT setup made it to 200 in the mile....over 200 to be correct.

You need too research the cars that are in the 200 mile club.... That will give you an idea what it takes. An Enzo or Porsche CGT cannot hit 200 in a mile without help from FI.

I have tried it in my G that has way more power than your and I came.up short.

Power, Aero and traction.... There is no way around it....

I saw a re-geared tranny for sale at Z1 or somewhere where 6th gear was a 1:1. Might have been cosworth, but I know it was pricy. Just cAnt remember where I saw it.

basically 6 gear tranny with no overdrive. That would be ideal for standing mile records.

but it's not designed for that sort of torque level - it's a road race spec unit for the NA built track cars

I'm thinking that you'd probably need ~800whp to do it. I don't know how well the Z/G's handle power at those levels though.

My G handled great when I had 800 whp DJ..... But all suspension parts have been changed to aftermarket.

He will need atleast 700 whp DD to pull this off

Isn't the OP using an aftermarket bumper. I think a stock exterior would do better.

I can tell ya what the stock suspension and front clip are like at 180mph....

Suspension is "stable" but not "confidence inspiring".

As for the front clip.....well rumors are that if you are running the stock under tray you are ok.....but ask Alberto how his went, and I know mine cracked and almost fell off.

I think a stock bumper and a 1 piece aluminum undertray reinforced across each mounting point and it should run fine.

Alberto had a front lip which puts a considerable amount more force on the front bumper @ high speeds.

Not without a significant rear end ratio change. The stock 5th gear is 1:1, so if the rear end ratio was not changed to a taller ratio then the new 6th gear would top out where the stock 5th gear did.

thats the point. you dont want to go to an overdrive gear in a standing mile. you do the mile based on revs at that point and have one extra gear to keep high speed (ieowerband) thru, instead of overgearing and lugging for that brief period

5th gear with 3.3 FD is more than capable at 200mph at 7500+ rpms. most mile cars rev til 9k rpms

I know that you don't want to overdrive EVER for optimal acceleration.

That said, I did a little gearing calculation and with a 3.3FD and 7500rpm with a 1:1 transmission ratio and a stock diameter tire (26.7in). That setup would only make 180mph. It would take just over 8300rpm to eclipse 200mph. So no, a 3.3FD + 7500rpm and a 1:1 trans ratio would NOT be capable of 200+mph.

I even plugged in a 28in tire and you still only hit ~189mph with a 3.3FD and 7500rpm.

you might want to look at this also

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...s-related.html

i save the setting with 350z trans info plus 3.3 vs 3.5 FD at 7200rpm with 26.1 wall ( u can edit it to your specification )

all I have to say is good luck ive seen the car a few times and its clean all around very nice car but 200mph its easier said then done. I honestly would wait till the supra 2k10 meet comes around you should go they have the real deal equipment so your mph will be accurate. just use this events as tests to see what’s happening but I think you'll need at least 700whp> but again good luck
