Default BOV issues

My BOV is not opening. At idle I'm seeing around -22 vacuum based on my boost gage. I'm using the 50mm Tial BOV which came with the powerlab kit from intensepower. I unscrewed the BOV and found that it has the unpainted spring installed. I believe I need to switch to the pink spring. What do you all think?

Thanks

Mine is the same way, it sits at about -22 at idle but when I'm going into boost it goes off fine. Not sure if it's a bad thing or not but have yet to hear from anyone about it.

If it's not opening, wouldn't you want to go with a softer spring, so that it opens at a lesser amount of vacuum? So you would go to a white spring?

Are you sure you are gettin strong vacuum at the BOV and it's not bound up or anything? Your signal lline is coming from after the throttle plate correct?

It's normal to have show "-" vacuum at idle, then it goes up to zero as you gas and eventually to "+" pressure as you begin to boost.

Make sure you dont have the Q version as they require different springs.

You may need to get the white spring and put a washer or two if you have the old style 50mm BOV. I was having the same problem with my setup with the Q version and the unpainted Q spring worked for mine which is -20 in/Hg (-10psi)

Also the springs seem to loosen up after a little but, almost like a break in.

I remember the guy(SnyperZ) who i bought my Powerlab kit from had a similar issue, just check back.....fixed it with a softer spring, think he ended up with a 6psi spring.

Definitely need a softer spring. The unpainted spring is the 11 psi spring.
