Big boost?.. Was it worth it?
I have all the parts and I'm really debating whether I'm going to do it. I mean do the boosted dude's ever sit back and say.."damn I wish I didnt".
In case your wondering I have:
Greddy Tuner Kit
AAM Stg 1
Utec
Walbro 255
Koyo Radiator
Stillen Oil cooler
DW 550's for now... bigger depending on the boost.
I was looking at the Forged Performance Block and looking for 600whp. I searched the forum and really just saw different set ups, disasters, or which kit to get. I'm actually only looking for feeback from boosted guys... Thanks for your time.

Sorry about the sarcasm. I am referring to this sad excuse for racing: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...p-25-list.html

Looking @ your parts list........you're gonna say "I wish I didn't"
IMO you doing it wrong around.....setting yourself up for fail.
How's it that you buy parts not matching your HP goals and then wanting to know if you should?

What year and mileage Z are you thinking about putting all this stuff on? You'll end up with something that you can only sell to a total idiot or to someone who wants that exact same setup. Mods like that scream "ABUSIVE DRIVING", and whatever resale value you had goes in the toilet.
I can race around like crazy without breaking 3000 RPM, and that's hardly making the engine work at all. What do you need more power for?

Explain... How I'm I setting myself up for failure? To answer your question... I initially bought a Vortech V3 but it was taking forever to get to me. I was getting impatiant so I got an amazing deal on the Greddy Tuner. Initially my goal was 400whp..(explains the injector size & Utec) having the Greddy kit now making 400whp would be a waste considering what the kit is capable of.

If you have no money issues where if a motor pops, you can easily replace it with out thinking about how much it will cost you then go for it.
If you're like most people and have a hard time dropping a few grand at random, keep the power to a safer level. Im in the 400WHP club and couldn't ask for more and that's just touching the bottom of what my turbo kit can make. Just because it has a lot more room to go, doesn't mean I should go there. =)

Everyday that passes I feel like I regret the decision to go so crazy on this car more and more.
I feel like Id rather be driving my old NA setup and enjoying it daily at no cost above stock for maintenance, than spending money on fixing my car, trailering it around, caring for it more and never driving it because its become such a pain in my d!ck. Id drive it now but the battery is dead again. I dont even trust my car for a 2.5hr trip to the Ocean.

I like having a boosted Z, but if I could do it again, I'd do all suspension stuff first. I like driving in the twisties more than going 150+ on the interstate. Plus, the car is quick now, but it doesn't have the brakes or suspension to keep up with the power.
All be prepared to totally write off whatever you spend on the car. If money is not a huge issue for you in that regard or you just don't care, then go for it.

Alberto start disconnection your battery, I remove my neg side everytime I pull into the garage, for some reason the Z draws enough power to knock out a battery over a few weeks if the car just sits around. I learned this the hard way, 2 dead batteries later. and many jump starts.

I am very happy with 400whp. IMO it is safe and just perfect for the street, and some track time. The only reason I would build is for reliability. My HP with a built motor would not go over 450. The roads here are so sh!tty that you are air born half the time at WOT in 3rd gear anyway. So what would be the point.
My car sat in the garage (heated) for 4 months, battery never drained. Car started right up.
