My HKS S/C Installation
Just going back to something earlier in the thread about idle surge
Mine has started surging now, its stalled once by leaving it idle
Its only started happening since I switched to a different brand of fuel (same octane & only 1 tank so far)
A friend of mine had the same issue with his Evo & it turned out to be a faulty Lambda sensor.
Did anyone get to the cause of it on the Z

I have not decided what I am going to do with the HKS Sc Setup yet. I just needed my car to be reliable at that time. It was stressing me out not being able to drive me car.
I am currently looking at a few things.
1. Re-install the HKS using 440cc injectors ranther than 600cc injectors. Get second car.
2. Sale HKS, Build block, GTM TT, Haltech. Get second car.
3. Trade Z for 2010 Jeep SRT-8.
Right now the jeep is looking real good. Just found a 2010, but it's about 5 hours away.
My SC has been great so far and no idling surges! (touch wood)
The only problem i had was the mid mounted Magnaflow 'X pipe muffler' had become blocked (I installed this while i was NA to remove the rasp). I changed this 2 day ago and now my car has ***** again! It used to be sluggish and a sound like a ferrari at 4000rpms.
In regards to the injectors, are you guys running the injector in the plenum (standard HKS recommmendation) or the upgraded stock injectors?
I'm using the DW 600cc injectors, with stock fuel system tuned with the HKS piggyback included in the kit. My tuner unlocked the ECU and custom tuned it.

BTW, after I installed the hpx maf sensor and got the first tune, I played with the intake by blocking slightly the air going into the filter with my hand,(cover and uncover). Through this me and my tuner were able to find out that the maf I got is a really sensitive one.
When I had my first tune, I got a base map that my tuner made for me; It wasn't great but I had minors issues. One of them was something like the symptoms showed in your video. At first I thought it was idle surge, but my tuner stated it wasn't. He stated the ups and downs idle issues were gonna be fixed with spending more time into tuning my car. Through various test and various tuning sessions, he showed me he fixed the issue and confirm it wasn't idle surging.
1. Starting Enrichment Values. (See attached)
2. Injector Latency Adder (Mine in Decimal format = 42).
3. Injector Latency Scaler (Mine in Decimal format = 92).
4. Injector Min Effective PW (Mine in Milliseconds = 1.46).
5. K Fuel Multiplier (Mine in Decimal format = 17984).
Thanks,
C
