Default My Vortech Si Trim Version 2.1, Uprev Tuned

Hey Everyone,

You may have seen my previous Vortech thread (https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...rev-tuned.html) I was looking to get a little more power out of my system and saw that someone had posted up an Si Trim blower, and so I decided to swap it out. The outside looked just like the normal Sc Trim blower and the swap was relatively easy, maybe 3 or 4 hours. The results were significanly above what I expected.

With the 3.12 pulley, this blower makes about 12 psi at redline compared to the Sc Trim which made about 7 or 8 psi.

The final tune had the car at 431 whp. This is actually significantly less than the peak tune. Jared over at Uprev pulled a lot of timing off the top as he was worried how much the stock motor could handle. I was making about 380 whp with the Sc blower. Run 18 is on there just to show the AFR as the WB crapped out on the final tune run.

Overall, it's a very impressive upgrade, the car has a much higher mid range power, which is great as it's my daily driver. Amazingly, the stock clutch is still holding up and I'm happy to finally be in the 400+ hp club.

Major Kudos to the Jared at Uprev. He's a stand-up guy and an amazing tuner, had the tune knocked out in just over an hour. Part throttle driveability is perfect and warm starts are no problem. Osiris handles everything.

Quick question for anyone running around 10 lbs boost. Is your hwy mileage around 18mpg? I was driving pretty conservatively, but wow. Maybe the price you pay for high power.

you are not always in boost, but you are always under parasitic loss. 18mpg is good. I never got that much with my setup

Yea, as stadium said, no boost while cruising. Gauges show -7 to -12 on the highway.

Interesting to note the disparity though.

Very nice...nice to see that blower is being put to good use

And its good that they decided to pull some timing up top just to be safe with the stock block...Incidentally, I was actually getting about 430whp also on a safe street tune that my tuner set...It's when I got greedy and pushed the setup the whp with meth that I got in trouble, running at 13.5 psi...

Why the large variation in mpg? Is it simply down to the tune?
