GTM HR TT KIT + IPP STG 1 HR bulid
((THIS ISN'T A DREAM THREAD ))
Let me start by saying this is more like a nightmare than a project .
When I add together the times the car spent in the shop it adds up to over a year
The funny thing is that when I bought everything last year for the first built it was in February 2009 and I couldn't finish the car until September 2009 due to waiting time for the TT kit, clutch and some missing parts. The same thing with this build, I bought everything back in February and hopefully the car will be finished before/or in September
After blowing the stock engine back in January I pulled the trigger on the IPP STG 1 HR short block and some more stuff to complete the build.
We had a hard luck hunting a buildable HR core to use, and there was a couple of delays here and there.
Now all of the parts are here except the short block, had some problems with Aramex (the shipping company) and the block has been in JFK airport for the last two weeks. When I talked to them yesterday they promise to ship it by Friday it would take a couple of weeks to get here.
I'm not running after any numbers for now, I just want somewhat of a reliable car with a conservative tune, it would be hard going WOT knowing that this could be happening all over again
Now the list of mods : (I add the word new to new items)
GTM HR 350Z twin turbo kit STG 1
GTM SPEC 3" downpipes
Haltech platinum 350z pnp EMS new
GTM HR reflash
IPP STG1 VQ35HR short block (Custom Wiseco VQ35HR Pistons + BC VQ35HR Rods) new
Engine Gasket set for HR new
L19 Head Studs - VQ35 new
OS GIKEN HR quad plate clutch (had to convert the weak CSC to the old 03-06 fork style)
370z Denso spark plugs FXE24HR11 new
Greddy Turbo Ti-C Cat-Back
AEM Wideband Uego Controller
DSD SLM II Boost, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure and EGT Gauges 60mm/amber LED
GTM full return fuel system for HR new
HKS Denso 1000cc Peak and Hold Injectors new
IP Wiring Harness Modification for HR new
IP Boost Control Kit new
IntensePower A-Pillar Triple Gauge Pod (which doesn't like heat)
Some pics:
IP Wiring Harness Modification for HR and some switches I wired for BC, 2-step and BB.
I waited a year to get those :
1000cc HKS Peak and Hold Injectors :
Some people reported fuel leaks with this kit but this is the only HR full RFS out there:
I wanted to Thank Kyle@IPP for the outstanding work his does and also thank Sam, Hal and everyone contributed to this build .
Will keep this thread updated with pics of the install.

Should be pretty impressive! I have the GTM return fuel system for my TT HR but i'm still on the factory fuel rails with DW 800cc injectors, and single Wahlbro fuel pump. I haven't had any fuel leaks or problems with the return system. I didn't see on your build list but will you be running the twin fuel pump setup or sticking with the single Wahlbro?

Stitch welding the outside helps to prevent cracking at the joint due to heat cycles. Although on that one, it does look just tacked. Weird.

Nice build.. Just wondering how did the stock block hold up wit ur turbo set-up?
Since the HR motors can hold more than the DE on stock i can imagine a built HR is gonna be able to hold lots more power
Can't wait for the final numbers!

Nice build it will take awhile to gain confidence in the new set up I know I felt like my 2nd build was made of glass after the first build failed. But after awhile the fear of blowing $hit up becomes less

One of the major reasons the stock HRs holds more power due to the improved rod design, so with upgraded rods the field should be some what level between HR and DE.

Yay, so you did decide to put the thread up. I knew you would. Good job. Pretty pictures for me to look at. Plus, gives me something to look forward to in the future if I blow my stuff up. I thought you had a GTM STG 2 TT kit...but says STG 1?

Actually, I don't know what stage I have!!! I ordered the stage 1, but my mechanic called me couple of months ago and said that its .86 stamped on the back housing when he was checking the turbos, but again the invoice and checking list said stage 1
I don't think the HR headgaskets would be a problem with the power range I will be in.
