Default Boost logs from my BP precision 6765 billet turbo setup

Ok, here are some printouts.

Boosted performance 6765 billet wheel precision turbo kit. Full built engine, heads, cams.

pic 1 5th gear, 10psi 3500rpms

pic 2 5th gear 13psi 3900rpms

pic 3 is 4th gear, 10psi at 3841rpms

pic 4 is 4th gear, 13psi at 4080 rpms

rich was curious about these numbers. This is UNTUNED. I have timing pulled way back as you can see in the top frame of the picture.

I'll have more stuff on my build thread after my tune august 28th.

well, 13psi at least. I'm not tuned yet so that's definitely not my full boost.

So ya, most dyno in 5th, sometimes they do it in 4th. That's why i chose those gears to compare. Comparing a lower gear to a dyno wouldn't be the same since there is more load in higher gears therefore it will build boost sooner.

I think it builds 10psi around 4100rpms in 3rd gear. Not sure about second gear because if i'm doing a roll i usually don't go WOT until 4500-5000 rpms anyways.

that sounds good. Man u must be really good at tuning cuz i'd be scared to go WOT without being fully tuned.

WOT tuning is the easy part. Its the midrange driveability which is where experience and technique come in.

looking good Jeff. At 4000 rpms I see about 4psi

Could not agree more. It took me about 30 minutes to get the a/f to 11.7 even at WOT. It took a whole lot longer to get it right at partial throttle.

ya, that's rough, but the 1000hp at the top makes up for it!

and yes, right now my car is driving like crap in the midrange. I'm not near as good as hal so it's not smooth. It's not BAD, but it's definitely not smooth. For some reason i just can't get it dialed in smooth like i did on my dw 800's. Hal will get it all fixed up for me though.

As far as driving, we hit some twisties last night. The "lag" wasn't noticed since rpms never really dropped below 5k anyways. I was nervous about building boost high but after last night i realized that i'll never have it down that low in rpms when i need power.

spool looks good so far...you will probably gain a little more spool (maybe 100-200rpm) after tuning.

I'll have to go out later and see what boost I am hitting at 4k rpm (wanna say in the 8-10psi range).

13PSI is your max? If you are shooting for higher then that then the curve is not going to hit ~18psi til 4500 or 5000. I hope you set your redline high but you'll need a lot of other stuff to accomplish that. PM me for details.

test it in 4th and 5th gear both. It's hard to test in 5th because of the speed but i just held it long enough to see where the boost went then backed off.

This is UNTUNED dave. 13psi is far from my max but that's all i have it set now for 2 reasons: untuned and i'm on pumpgas still. I also cut my rev limit to 7k because of the tuning issue. No reason to beat on an engine when i haven't been fully tuned.

We're tuning to e85 so probably in the mid 20's for psi. I understand full boost will be later. The numbers i posted were for rich since he was asking how spool is on this turbo compared to the Intense 4088r turbo build.

Redline will be back up to 8k or 8500 again once it's fully tuned and safe. pauter rods, arais ed pistons, forged crank, heads, etc. It's turned 8k before, but it won't again until it's on a dyno and i know it's safe. Too much invested to screw it up.

Actually twin 60's.....58 billets weren't compatible with the center section and housings I had (guess original build was done 6 months to early lol)...so we went with the 60's on same center section and exhaust housings.
