What exhaust are you running for the dyno binder?

my borla true dual. Hopefully it flows enough otherwise i'll just disconnect the downpipe from the exhaust system during tuning.

I'm thinking it should be ok with the open dumps. I tuned pretty high with the vortech. I'm also on a .68 a/r hotside to increase spool so i'm sure it will be more restrictive than dual 2.25" exhaust.

I love how quiet is it so i doubt i'll ever get rid of it. i like quiet cars.

The SP boost activated cut out would be a nice add on. I think you'll be leaving a lot of high rpm power on the table with the Borla. I like the sound of that exhaust but with open dumps, it's loud on boost anyway, right?

ya, but quite when i'm driving. I like to just drive my car. I've dumped a ton of cash into the car so i'm kinda getting sick of spending more money. Another 300$ for a cutout just isn't in the cards right now.

hell, i'll be happy with 600hp. I think over that is just crazy anyways so if i lose any top end power over that i'll be ok. That leaves me room to play later.

There is a facebook vid of me walking that camaro. My profile is set to private and i don't have the video (only posted by a friend). I'll try to find a way to post it on here in the morning. Once i full spool i walk him like nothing. I didn't realize how bad i was pulling on him until i see this video from inside his car.

just curious why people call installing a turbo kit a "build" ?

The kit was put together by a company, the engine is still stock

Just figured I would jump in here and give some details on the tune.

I appreciate the kind words about us and our customer service.

This tune is EXTREMELY conservative to say the least! Very little timing, 11.3-11.5 AFRs and we saw a max of 6ish PSI on the dyno. The goal of the customer was to just have a fun car to drive that did not have to be rebuilt until he wanted it too.

The kit looks good, just make sure to heat wrap everything you can, and use a turbo blanket when installing.

Looking forward to working on it some more.

Welcome!

Why do you say to heat wrap, not saying that it is a bad idea or anything just looking for the reason you say "make sure to heat wrap".

hope not. Same if not less hot side piping than PL/Turbonetics (headers to turbo), and all i ever use are 45deg bends.

The reason I say heat wrap is because that piping is going to get a hotter than an NA exhaust would.

With the system right under the middle of the chassis like that the most heat you can keep "in" the better. Also with the intake under the car there needs to be as little heat under the car as possible.

Again the kit fits great, and looks good, I just wouldn't install it on a car without wrapping it.

Not to mention it will make more power, safer, and spool faster Thats just the perk

Thanks you, valid points.

I have had the kit on the car for two seasons now, with many days at drag strip. I made sure I check for any signs of heat damage over a period of time, and have not had issues.

Again, I am not saying heat wrap is a bad idea, all I am saying is that there will not be any damage to the car subframe/chassis if it is not heat wraped. The crossover pipe going under the trany would probably be the pipe I would heat wrap...but again, I have not had any issues.

I agree it won't create issues, and by no means was implying that it would....wouldn't want you to think that

Just for the average consumer out there that was going to DIY the heat wrap is a good idea

Good point. I am semi reservering the thread for my future build next year. My engine parts should be coming in later this year. Just gotta find a donor engine to swap since my car is my daily driver. I'll post up the build as soon as I get to it. Pics too when I can find my stupid camera. I hope I didn't lose it.

just make sure you can afford to miss work, get a rental or bum a ride to work before going much further.
