Who gives a $hit if the guy does runs on the street?
Im sure we all do things that put ourselves and possibly others in danger, I mean just simple speeding can cause accidents, harm and death to oneself and others and Im sure everyone here has done that at once.
Lets stop with the mom speaches and either discuss the guys concerns or STFU. If the OP is anything like me, he will do what he wants regardless of what anyone thinks.

I agree with this. Do what your life can handle.

I came on here to talk about the TN setup comparing it to my previous N20 setup and you guys ruined the entire post.
i tell you what tho. im prety sure alberto would agree. a 11 sec car is still a 11 sec car. turbonetics or not. alberto had the kit when it was first produced so problems where bound to creep up, oh and if u see the video that thing was not babied what so ever. the turbonetics kit has ran low 11s. maybe you can combine it with your nt2o and make the first 10 sec pass on a turbonetics kit on these forums ! =). enjoy it as much as you can, save up , sell it and buy a boosted peformance like i did. all in all i enjoyed my tn kit for 2 years with not 1 single issue other than tune related.
Ive really been enjoying the car the last couple of days. Its so smooth and the power comes on strong. I never really took the car to the DR with the N20 setup, im not that into going to the dragstrip. All I have to compare to was running so many cars on the street that I knew what times they ran...but thats comparing apples to oranges. I ran several Fbody cars on the street that I knew ran low 11's with the N20 and I pulled them pretty hard. The Nitrous was alot of fun, what wasnt fun was fulling 2 bottles every single weekend.
Next month im building the bottom end and im hoping the kit can muster out another 75hp. 475 is my goal for the street. I dont think getting to that power should be a problem being that I made 409/419 @ 7.5lbs this Saturday. We had to install all the overboost pipes and decided to re-check the tune just to see if anything changed.

AHHHH I sold the entire kit! That would sure be some tire roasting fun. Im doing a very mild build. Probably going to be the cheap Eagle Chromoly rods, Wiseco pistons, ARP studs.

If you build the motor you will most likely go with lower compression pistons. You will lose power and this is where the Turbonetics kit runs out of steam. I was going to say this yesterday when you were predicting a 75hp gain with a built motor. I would just enjoy your stock block power for awhile and go with a BP or Greddy kit and build the motor later.
Can u please elaborate on this?
And just because A car can pull 11's at the dragstrip doesnt mean it runs the same on the street from a roll. Thats why I said its comparing apples to oranges and doesnt really mean squat. EVO's launch well at the strip from AWD and run amazing times, but from a roll on the street there launch advantage doesnt help. This also applies to muscle cars with stall convertors and slicks. There made to go from a dig but some of those cars suffer from 40 and 60 rolls. Thats why people that cant drive like Roll racing. Im not bragging about my dig racing skills either, im not the greatest lol.

The TN kit has too small of piping to support the needs of a built motor. If you try to up the boost you just blow hotter air. If you spend the money to modify the piping you could of just bought a better kit. The Turbonetics was never meant for anything more than a stock block. It does a great job until you try to push for more power with it.
Is it possible to upgrade to a larger intercooler? Possible with Meth combined? I dont consider building the block a waste for the kit, built or not built its still more relliable then the weak stock config.

The T3 housing on a stock VQ is too small even on a stock block at 400whp, let alone a built block trying to get 500whp.
I have results from back pressure testing, so this is a proven fact. This is also why I decided to go with a T4 housing on my turbo kits. I have a customer that went from a .68a/r T4 to a .81a/r T4 with a built block. The full boost RPM actually decreased with the larger housing by about 100rpm. Most would think that the larger hot side would cause more lag, this was not the case. The VQ has a very high VE, and needs to breathe.
There is more testing to be done in the near future, and I do plan on sharing the results.
I think he spent so much time/money on trying to get the TN kit to perform that he would of been better off buying a new kit. You can only reinvent the wheel so many times.. I dont remember him being too pleased with his results also..
The tn kit will make the 500 whp dj. How efficient I don't know. If those are your goals op ride the tn kit till it can't run no more. If your finance allow to upgrade to a better performing kit then do so at your own time. There are at least 6 built tn kit running around here N guess what. They aren't what I would call slow. Just watch the temperatures get a nice method kit and you will be ok. Remember forums are forums take everything you see here with a grain of salt. Enjoy it.
I made 531 whp 501wtq on a mustang dyno in south florida on 18-19 psi with a unmoddified TN kit with meth injection and open dump 650cc injectors .
Now i have greddy twins no meth, 440cc injectors, open dump at 8psi and 408whp on the same dyno.
