I just bought and installed this pump in my evo.

supposed to be some sort of 255 replacement with more flow.

it has reverse polarity of a 255, but everything else looks the same. It is MUCH quieter than a 255.

the normal high pressure walbro is part # gss342. similar to pt342

more info would be needed on that pump.

here, they say its a protec modified pump and that they will be at PRI.

40% less than it would on pumpgas since 40% more fuel for e85 is required.

Impossible to calculate since every car is different. Hell, my walbro was maxed out at 451hp when some others get their walbro's over 500hp. Everything in the build and car is a variable that effects it.

so far yes, i have the twinpump now so i'm not going to come close to maxing it now.

yes, it was on a supercharger and it was also on a DD dyno and everyone argues "this one reads high, this one reads low" blah blah. So technically nothing is apples to apples. Hal has had other s/c systems on his dyno get higher than mine also.

i maxed my 600cc injectors at 450whp on a DD. But my fuel pressure was fine with a single walbro. SO you saw your fuel pressure drop from high 50's (or whatever your base+boost was) to low 40s at full boost?

My walbro max'd out at 6000 rpms with HKS 1000 cc injectors at 16 psi making 535 whp on a DJ (with a 5AT) - couldn't finish a pull because AFRs would approach 13 no matter what. The greater the injector pulse width I typed in, the more my fuel pressure dropped (down into the 20s). My alternator, fuel, and fuel pump were hot by this time - voltage was 11.6v so that wasn't good either... Complete waste of 2 hrs on the dyno. (FWIW, 520 STD on this dynojet equated to a 475 on Sharif's dyno and 505 on Hal's, all at 15 psi but at different times/conditions). I'll be bumping up the voltage to 17v along with the CJM stage 2 hard line, so hopefully that will provide plenty of headroom.

It would be nice to be able to run E85 at the 500-600 whp level with one pump and a voltage booster...

if only it was that easy

they dont fit in the dual pump setup sold by CJM.....
so you'll have to take the SP hanger, 2 pumps, and then the BAP, plus -10AN feed and a new EMS to stage the pumps, or a -8AN return with a bigger FPR

the thread title is a bit of a misnomer though

a 385 lph pump (at what voltage?) is fine...if you need it

if you don't need it, it's utterly useless, and like many new products, particularly a fuel pump, you may be well served to wait and see what reliability is like before taking a plunge vs a known commodity

the only real way to know is how you guys are doing it...datalogs, to see where you start running out (and what is causing it..injector or pump). It's going to be different for everyone based on a number of different factors

but ya, not much additional info, so prudent to wait and see. But regardless at worse its a 255L.

when we started having the rise in a/f ratios no matter how much fuel hal put in he had me watch my fuel pressure gauge while he did a pull. Promptly at 7500 rpms the pressure would drop from the 60's (boost reference) to below 20. It would almost bottom the gauge out.

And also, based on calculations 600 cc injectors will be maxed before a walbro pump.

If you FP was dropping then your calculations dont really show that.

I only ran to 6600 rpms to make 460 so thats probably why I didnt appear to be outta pump only injector.

Guess you missed my comment in ashtons thread? The flow rating drops as pressure increases. 255lph is best case.....it only gets worse from there. Your assumption that the walbro will flow more than the 600cc injectors may be incorrect for the actual pressures being used.

Also remember injectors are rated at a certain pressure too. If you increase the pressure at an injector then the cc rating should increase as well.

for reference, here's flow charts. i figured it was widely known that walbros dont do well at high pressures compared to like the bosch 044


6 600s outflow the pump right around 60psi at nominal car voltage. pretty much what you experienced.

well, got some info on the PT342 from JayRacing.

My evo went in for a tune today and I just heard from my tuner. Ran out of pump about the same level as a 255.

28 psi on an FP Red on E85 428 hp on a dyno dynamics

Maybe ill just stick to the 2x255 with a BAP running on a pressure switch, that sounds too complicated
