Default sts hung me out 2 dry

i bought my sts rear-mount turbo kit in oct 2008.i was told 2 to 3 weeks 4 delivery,it took almost 3 months! got kit, filter sock missing. sts would not do the install and tune (i live 20 minuts from them) so i had 2 use one of thier venders.after instal was done we found that the utech was defective. they wouldnt come pick it up so i drove it 2 them myself. needed a new harness. was told two weeks, took 2 months!also we found that the walbro f pump was defective. glad i didnt have 2 order it from sts.1000 QUICK miles after install and tune my motor goes boom!4 of the 6 bolts that bolt on the compressor housing on the turbo r gone! causing oil loss.took car 2 local dealer where rick squire looked at it.sts replaced my turbo under warrenty and did not help at all with engine loss!!!those bolts r suposed 2 b torqed down upon assembly but was told by sts that it was the installers job 2 make sure every is tight. i think my turbo must have been assembled on a friday afternoon! imo that is neglagence,if those bolts were torqed to spec they would not have backed out, and my engine would not have been destroyed.

basically he is blaming sts for his engine going BOOm! Either way im sorry for your lost but turbo manufactures are not required to replace your engine if it goes grenade on you.
That the risk you take when going F.I. I know the turbo was acting up and so on and so on, but point being is some engines last longer than others on the vq35, you got the short end of the stick.

Im sorry if i may of mis read anything but this is what i got from what i understood from your post.

yup, if you can prove the above, then negligence definately rests with your installers. you should seek legal action, they are never gonna pony up without being forced too. STS, while their customer service may have sucked, really can't be held liable -- look at your warranty! I hope you are able to eventually get a fresh powerplant.

sucks you had to wait for parts. We all have to do it, so HTFU.

sounds like you hung yourself out to dry....it its your responsibility to monitor the maintenance of your car.

Loose compressor housing bolts have nothing to do with the turbo losing oil. the CHRA is not part of the housings... So someone is feeding you a line of ****. The only way the turbo would lose oil is if the seals were blown or the feed/drain bolts came loose.

YOu sure you didnt have an oil consumption engine to start with?

Suck to learn the hard way that constant vigilance is critical when modifying.

Regardless of fault, if a company refuses to install and tune their own product, I'd think long and hard about chancing it on my car..... especially when grenading the motor is a huge possibility. If that isn't a red flag I must be color blind.....

goodluck getting your **** together OP...

if the bolts holding the compressor housing onto the CHRA were loose/gone, you would just have a massive boost leak, possible scraping sounds from the comp housing wiggling and hitting the rotating comp wheel, but absolutely no oil problem. i fail to see where you're coming from. sorry dude. maybe im not getting it?

A lot are missing the point. STS was providing some terrible customer service. I dont expect them to replace his engine, but dont they install and tune vehicles in house?

These types of posts depress me. Shows me the type of people now able to get into these cars. I truly am "n2deepnot2keep" This joker probably bought a high milage, beat to **** Z for 8 grand and threw this turbo kit on it for a few more grand and blames STS for the problems.

Get real kid

long lead times = terrible customer service? HAHA get real. If that was the case no one would be in business..

as to the housing bolt being tight, thats 100% on the installer. You ALWAYS have to adjust the clocking of the housings to match the exhaust manifold and the charge pipe.

But like I said, loose housing bolts have nothing to do with oil loss. My wager still stands he had OC problems and didnt pull his dipstick once since 2008.

In the defense of STS they provide a product not a service. You are not going to blame Panasonic for Geek Squad not installing your TV correctly. STS is a very overworked company and they take great pride in their product. You having the opportunity of having the CEO come and overlook your car is a true testament that you got great Customer Service. I am sorry about your engine but I have never heard anyone complain about HKS for blowing their engines.

Did you get a full Dyno and a Tune to make sure the car was running perfectly?
