Old FI crew...
Who has the fastest supercharged G35 time in car that weighs 2-300lbs more than a Z? I've made hundreds on 1/8th mile passes and only 2 1/4 mile passes before i stripped the car and started over.
I believe that your excuse as well Alberto, so dont go calling the kettle black. You run your mouth more than anyone on this forum on how fawking weaksauce the times are, yet you have never done it either.
And dumbest comment? WTF? Sure VTR might be a great shop. But take a professional driver, a transbraked auto car and about 740whp and you think 9.5 quarter is impressive?
Supra guys are cuttin 140x+ traps with a 62mm turbo on less displacement. VTR is using an EMS that nobody knows anything about. Why not, promote it? Expand the community as a whole. If their sleeved motors have NEVER failed, why not promote one of their builds. For all we know their 9.5s car gets rebuilt every couple thousand miles....
AlwaysNBoost, you are VTR guy, so why not inform the community of how you built your car? Show the features of the Hydra, how user friendly it is, etc... IF thats your car with the TH400, explain how its incorporated into the Z, how its controlled, pics of the shifter setup.
Thats what people want to see. The more mainstream one off projects become, the better for everyone.

- I wasn't aware that Rocky (need4boostz) was a professional driver. You sure about that statement?
- There are pictures of the shifter setup on VTR's Facebook page ...if you're truly interested.
- If it's unimpressive and so damn easy (in your opinion), why haven't more shops and individuals cracked into the 9's? As it stands, only 2 shops (SP and VTR) offer product support for GM trans swaps on the VQ.

People are going to street race regardless, if there is a street/killz section or not. Most people thats on this forum now have been on here for a while ,and are mature enough to make the own decison's.
Now a days we have to listen to guys who run 12.3 talk about their "achievements" and new dyno numbers, that's wayyyy cooler
the big shops dont bother with non-factory FI cars. I want to swap to a GM tranny as well. It wasnt til 2 weeks ago that VTR listed they even had that bolt on option. IP did a glide swap in their green car, but again, no basic info about what they did to control the tranny etc was ever posted. Heck finding detailed pics of their custom turbo setup was near impossible as well. Its tough to want to make a swap without any kind of detail on what you are getting yourself into.
I see retards at the strip every week running mid 9s capable 1/8th miles with transbrakes. Believe me, the track i go to is redneck as heck. Sure there is some skill involved, but its nothing like trying to launch a VQ 6mt.
never checked on facebook.

Thats fine and fully expected, but that still doesnt negate all the time I spend at the strip trying to teach myself how to drive.
I'm not the guy you should be hating on. I go to the strip, I have completely torn down and rebuilt every aspect of my car. Only the engine was fully assembled by a professional shop with parts 100% of my own choosing, not some cookie cutter build. I did most of my own UTEC tuning as well as with my Haltech. I think if more OG FI members did all that, we would never have threads like this because stuff woulda been tried and figured out.
Hey, achievements and dyno plots are way better than gripes from a bitter OG that continuously states he 'fawking' hates this platform, this forum, and its members.

edit-you make it sound as if running mid 9's @ a relatively "low" power level is easy, but its not, regardless of transmission in the car. The fact that we don't already have fifty, 10 sec 6MT street cars says something big about the community as a whole and its shops. The proof is in the pudding, the community, who cares about a shop cars achievements if it doesn't trickle down to its customers?

I believe that your excuse as well Alberto, so dont go calling the kettle black. You run your mouth more than anyone on this forum on how fawking weaksauce the times are, yet you have never done it either. Alberto has given more to this communtiy and knows the car better/platform better than 90 percent of the people on this site, Give respect where it's due, You can learn from people like Alberto and what they have gone through and what steps they have taken in the past, he has sent the bench mark on what our cars can do
And dumbest comment? WTF? Sure VTR might be a great shop. But take a professional driver, a transbraked auto car and about 800whp and you think 9.5 quarter is impressive? For a VQ maybe and to a forum that prides themselves with 1.8+ 60' targets and street tire records.Yes, I said it, dumbest comment ever, now your still didn't answer my question, instead you answered my question with a question, why? Since it's soo easy to go 9.5's like getting a slurpee at 7 eleven, why haven't you gone 9's?

If their sleeved motors have NEVER failed, why not promote one of their builds. For all we know their 9.5s car gets rebuilt every couple thousand miles....Please don't compare Supra's and their spinning bearing motors to our's, I laugh at you guys that know nothing about supras and that spinning bearing motor if not built correctly. You see the smaller picture and not the bigger one, maybe the reason your soo bitter. Why don't you call Vinny yourself and ask him personally how many times the Blue Z's motor has been rebuilt since you know soo much. Or call Hydra yourself like I did to learn about the ems that has been used on Subura's and Evo's forever Instead you remind me of a child that wants everything laid out infront of him because he is too lazy to research it himself.

Why am I obligated to share my secrets on my build? Were at one point no one believed in Vinny or what he stood for, when I was secretly trying to tell people what lurked inside the VQ's that lead to overheats and lifted heads, everyone belived it was the sleeves and now 3 years and something months later my built SLEEVED motor is still running with no rebuilds or issues. Still people like you will doubt, no sweat off my back. Keep doing what you do. I will reassure everyone on this board. Keeping your built z's in garages and considering you have a true build is bull$hit

to add I have nothing to hide, If someone wants to know what I have built why not PM or call VTR and ask them, I have nothing to hide but will only give details to those that want to learn from my build, and what works and does not work, why should I give information when in the end people will say that's not true, or you can't do this and that. Don't come across like someone that builds motors for a living or tunes cars daily, leave it up to professionals like VTR.
Everyone thinks they are a qualified engine builder after they took apart their honda or Chevy GTFO with those stupid thoughts. If you have questions or would like to see how and why VTR's cars ALL have been running soo strong, call them and ask. Or come to the track with me and I will show you first hand.

I never doubted. I dont even know who you are. I was asking simple questions, not attacking. I dont anything about the car, hence why I said 'for all we know'.
It is easy. Drop your car off at VTR, pay the invoice, have someone else drive the car for you. Which is exactly what happened. The owner just opened his checkbook.
I respect Alberto's opinion. He drives his car hard and pays for it to get rebuilt so other dont have to.
Like I said, i never saw your threads secretly telling people what lead to overheats and lifting heads. I only saw a thread where you said VTR could build a sleeved engine and others with sleeve failures crapped on it. I dont have sleeves, so i dont really care. But that doesnt mean I am not interested to find out what works.
And too lazy to research, HAHA! get real. Why would I call Hydra if no one can tune it except VTR? I dont live near NY. But alot of people do. So why not promote a product you use?

Thats fine, i know you have access to anything VQ related.
I make it sound no easier than every thread where you say a 450-500whp car should be in the 10's, very low 11's. You have to have alot of seat time and to some extent be willing to trailer your car home.
The VQ is sooo expensive and so unforgiving to rebuild, i'm not gonna do a full boost pass anytime soon. I think that sentiment is prevalent in this community. We keep seeing multiple fails with no real explanation of the cause. That stays in the back of everyones mind and makes your butt pucker everytime you lay into it. You've made it clear, even you half expect to break everytime you drive. I know I'm at the point where I just wanna drive worry free for a while.

I'm not hating on you, you have nothing I want or cant have for myself. I do agree with that last part.

If I can run 11.1 with 490whp LETTING OFF, why hasn't ANYONE at that power level, beaten my time since 2007?
Its because we are a community of non drivers, we don't push limits, but we rant and bicker all day long about who has the highest dyno and who's shop is best. We suck

I may not be an OG, but I will tell you this. Alot of what Alberto said is true about the shops in this community. But at the same time some of the comments about being secretive about what certain people did to get the performance they have in their cars is retarded.
This forum is NOT about community it is about egos, bottom line this platform is too unreliable when built and far too expensive to constantly keep repairing. Some have had luck BUT many have not.
No one except a few that you can count on two hands wants to help anyone or share any info with anyone. All it is, is a constant trash talk and internet b.s. This community will never move forward until this stops, and quite frankly I don't see that happening.
