At the track it was fun to drive...but on the street I did not trust it. Its one of the reasons I decided not to sell it anymore after meeting with some of the young kids that came to buy it. They had no idea what they were buying.None of them has ever driven a car with over 400whp.... I just did not watt to read about some kid rapping it around a tree.

Dr Bonz back in the day with the Zaino threads and all the steps lol. Back then and today I still think he was nuts to spend 10 hours a week washing his car and less time driving it. To each their own.
Regardless if you like drag racing or not, the problem is 85% of FI members dont do it or suck a$$ at it. When you push a car here HARD, you will break drivetrain, motor, parts that can lead to better parts development.
Looking back, it was our own members with "big builds" that pushed NO LIMITS that held this community back. Its straight up fawking SAD, that my drag time time is even in the top 25 runs of all time, a time I set in 2007 with weaksauce numbers and less than 10 runs total. We are a forum of $hit talkers and haters, at the end of the day most FI members would rather drive to a parking lot, pop the hood and talk about their dynos. Anybody that has ever laughed at me for pushing limits and destroying one transmission or having motor problems can eat a d!ck and enjoy their slow a$$ fawking car.
Hate to admit it, but Vinny Ten did 95% of the R&D that other shops are just catching up to today back in the day with the drag cars they were building, and racing and breaking parts on. If a shop cant keep a car together for 1320 ft, how can you honestly trust them to keep your car together for XX,XXX miles or around a road course?
No hate above, its the honest truth from somebody that has seen it, lived it, and experienced the ups and down of this platform and its community.

word.
still here...still have my Z. Started my build in 2005-2006. Been sitting at a little over 500whp for the better part of 4-5 years. Take her to the road course once or twice a year. I still buy parts here and there for her, mostly minor things. Then install them all at once. Not much left to buy when you build the sh*t out of your car. Most of the time I'm replacing a part that's already been upgraded (aftermarket) with a better aftermarket piece. One of the many things you go through when you build a car that's still new to the market (lack of aftermarket support) and has a warranty. lol
Recently brought the nitrous back online while upgrading a few other things. Retuning with more boost and a big shot of dope. Some of us are still pushing our motors to our original goals. Looking for 1000 crank without sacrificing low-mid range power.

coachk surfaced a while back, but I think mods silenced him again... I used to chat with (chris) max, but it's been a while.....
either way, I thought i would be considered part of the "old fi crew", no?
edit:
and the FI forum is pretty weak lately. I keep coming in here hoping to see some E85 builds/tunes, but nothing... and I am not motivated enough, nor do I have the time to redo things on my setup to be one of the first to do it

edit: I agree with you. My car runs great and i am only modifying little issues as they present themselves. All i am doing now is mig welding my intake and charge pipes to minimize the couplings.

Rich I know guys around here that were using E85 on VQ's were able to run at least 4 degrees more timing across the board vs my 110 leaded tune!!!!!
APS extreme kit with same cams and same build as me made same power at same boost as me (21psi) but I had the 60mm turbos. Differences was e85. He was running way more timing than I could on that fuel.
Its almost like running C16 due to the addition fuel (its helping cool the cylinders).

I have heard MBT for E85 goes into the 20s at peak torque - almost like NA.
EDIT: (MBT=minimum timing advance for best torque), and I have seen Cobb timing maps for a GTR on E85 that are identical to pump gas (10s going up to high teens), so who knows - probably depends on boost levels...
