Talking Anyone ever installed a vortech?

So I'm pretty excited, I finally saved enough and ordered my vortech v3 last week. Should be here pretty soon and i planned on tackling the install myself. I have read countless threads and websites about the install and even the installation book a couple times. Was just looking for some extra info if anyone had anything to help make the install easier and go smoother. Any extra info is much appreciated !!! I'm sure there is some tips that other people found along the install that are good first hand advice.

super easy, you will spend more time installing the guages, and mounting the engine managment. The v3 is even easier that you do not need to tap the upper oil pan.

1.Make sure you leave in the support brackets to hold the intercooler straight.
2.Don't tighten all the couplers until all piping is installed.
3.Use blue locktight to hold most major bolts in place. Don't use the strong stuff (red).
4.Once installed do a boost pressure test before dynoing. I made a DIY on this called something like "homemade boost pressure test kit"
5.Do the GTM pulley upgrade.

And hey dude you are the one in Elkhart I think we sent a few messages back and fourth. The company I work for is based there. I have been there a few times, super clean, very nice people, can't walk down the street without saying hi and that someone's first name to them, glad to know towns like that still exist.

Do an advaced search for Vortech Install under thread titles only and you will find a wealth of info and a bunch of members that can help if you have questions.

Best of luck with your install and welcome to the dark side.

Full kit or tuner? Do you have the correct gauges? Not trying to be a dick but by your recent posts it seems you are going into this blind. There are a lot of other factors you need to take care of before just installing the kit and driving it...

I would have it checked out by a legit shop after the install to verify everything before even going into boost.

also if your on a budget... do not do the install unless you have a couple hundred bucks saved up for unforeseen hiccups i.e towing to tuner, injector tests, rental (if this is your only means of transportation). and also beer to feed your friends who are helping. trust me if your doing a self install do not go at this alone , alot more fun with friends helping out.

i have a boost, fuel pressure and air/fuel ratio gauges. I have the full kit. I read the directions too many times and I understand all of it. I have a gear head friend helping me that does alot of work on cars. I also got money set aside for the random stuff I might encounter.

I just had a question about how many miles I should baby it before i go into boost. I can't seem to find that answer.

Ill try and post pictures of the kit and stuff if they will ever show up to me email
