218... hr's.......lol
GLWTKIASLT
(good luck with turbo kit install and sh*t like that).
And about the center console, the 3 gauges should be 2 on 1 circuit board (mph/mpg, and oil pressure on 1 and then voltage seperate), so I don't see much reason to buy another center console. Are you going to install the gauges yourself? Why not have z1 do it? Either way its not that much work.

Sitting in the metropolis of Carollton GA with my homey. Glad he could make the trip this week with me. Touched 120mph a few times
on the rural back roads of GA. The highlight of the night so far has been a trip to Wal-Mart where I saw a lady wearing no shoes (her husband or boyfriend had no shirt) and her feet were solid BLACK with dirt. I almost took a picture so I could post it on http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ but I didn't. I knew I was in the sticks.
Talked to John and Sam on the trip and everything is a go. Meeting John at the shop in the morning. The day has come.

Everything went well today. Dropped the car off this morning at Z1. Very excited. Still waiting on the down pipes from GTM. I must admit, the GTM 3" exhaust looks freaking awesome. Z1 will be taking pictures during the build so I will post them up when I get them.
The exhaust rear section was sitting in the showroom floor. I should've taken pictures. I'll see if one of the guys can send me the pictures.

I know I'm a small player here...
I got so fed up "dealing with the people dealing with my car" that I decided to stop the madness (cease all work on my car) and meet face to face as many of the "heavy hitters" in the G/Z community as I could.
This involved time and travel....I have met Sam and others.
My conclusion.... educate yourself ....know as much as they know... To the highest extent possible do it yourself. What you can't do ...be in your shops face, (in a nice way) continually ask questions, watch the details and really listen. Take copious notes and pictures if you can.
I am 25 miles from Carrolton...with some reservations I think Z1 is good people.

Thanks for the post. I have tried to educate myself as much as possible. I think Sam and John may agree that I have done a good job educating myself about this build. I would have loved nothing more than to do this build myself in my garage but I just don't have the time or space really. I called and spoke at length with three of the major shops in the southeast. After visiting z1 I felt confident that things would go well. I will be visiting the shop next Friday (9/9) evening to see progress.

Z1 is moving and shaking on the build. They started on the car last Friday and are busy mounting manifolds and turbos today. Thought I would post a picture of an unmolested, bonestock longblock that the shop sent me this morning. I will be in the ATL on Friday and am planning to stop by the shop to see/view progress. These guys are busy as all get out especially since Z-Nationals is in a few weeks.

Looking good. I'll tell you from experience ( just gained 2 hours ago) that the oem motor and tranny is pretty big. Also if you don't have a lift, is a MFPITATDW (mofoin pain in the *** to deal with).
Liking your build right now more than mine, because it's a lot easier to wait!
