I haven't neglected it dik. Just deciding on a street tire. My post already said I have a second set of wheels on which I will run Mickey Thompson's. Just trying to figure out a street tire.
you need a 285 at the least in the rear..which means proper rims..i am running a 295x35x19 and would love to go bigger if BFG made a larger size for KDW2's but they don't
You punk-a$$s are right.... I was just trying to get something hold me over...
Something I really considered before my car got raped in a parking lot and by a bicyclist is having the oem rear wheels (perhaps even front) widened. The process involves cutting the wheel around the circumference of the dish and inserting a strip of desired width. Gives you a stockish look and doesn't cost a sh*t ton. There are debates on the safety of this, but if you get a good shop/worker to do it (someone who's done it many many times) you shouldn't have an issue.
I personally have some TSW Nurburgring wheels and love em. Just wished I bought them after I went wide-body so I won't be forced to run spacers. Affordable, durable and pretty stylish.
The minimum recommended width is 9" for a 275. My wheels are 8.5". I bet it will fit. Anyone done it?
Probably not a wise idea to go against what the engineers that designed the tires say. I would think that is a quick way to an accident.

CCW widens rims. 150$ per inch per wheel. so i guess you could get to 9.5" with 300$ if you're willing to wait.
We understand you have track rims but are you just going to grandma drive the car when you're on the street? probably not. It won't be fun on tires that will have zero traction.
i've been running 275s on my stock 8" rims for a while now. Thats what i made 898whp with on the dyno for my 1st build and also drive on them with my current build.
The barely pillow and are just fine to mount. Way safer than that f'n stupid hellaflush sh`t.

this is generally done with in drag racing, i wouldnt risk it on a street driven or track car. If its $150 ish per rim he can use that money + the money he makes from selling his stocks to buy some rims in the sizes he needs.

Peer pressure is a bish. I didn't want to get overly aggressive so I ordered a set of Enkei PF01s 18x9.5 +15 on all four corners. Thinking I may run Nitto NT555s 285-40/18s in the rear.
Props to John at OAKOS Automotive. Wheels were in stock. Got them in silver. Thanks for the input guys. I will be safe now.

and why not? I think I make more than enough power to determine that weldcraft does an excellent job in widening rims.
