Its what all the cool kids do. Besides, it keeps the thread at the top so more people see it and gives the OP some positive reinforcement. It's always bueno to see lots of posts in your thread about how much people approve of what you are doing... makes people more likely to continue posting in the fffread.

So if you actually sub'd, you just keep getting email notices to see that others have sub'd

Looking forward to seeing this build. OP, any chance that now that you are a vendor you will post some prices for the processes you are showing?

Mazworx did a TON for the 240/SR community so its nice to see them stepping up for the VQ community as well.

looks like nice quality work. Good to see a shop posting pics of process not just a motor already built with greddy twins sitting off the sides... claiming 1000+hp..

good luck with the build and I am def in for the final results.

It's our S14a (1995). We raced it in NHRA for 2 years with the SR20 and a 5 speed trans. We've gone 9.0 with that setup. The chassis is rock solid and has seen 1.30 60's on ET Streets. So now we plan to run the Outlaw street class which we are limited to a 76mm turbo. Thanks to Garrett, we have a GTX4708R (the 75.8mm version). But we can run 28x10.5 slicks, the VQ and a powerglide trans. So needless to say its going to run quicker.

so you are not running that 4718 then?

The 2JZ swaps into 240s are running super fast. 9 flat is rowing some gears for sure!

The car will go low 8's with this turbo. We plan to run a class that has a turbo restriction of 76mm. So the GTX4708R is the best candidate. Once we get the car where we like it, we can easily swap in a GT55 and see how fast it goes.

low 8s with a 76mm? that would put the 2JZ swap 240s to shame.

Sounds excellent!

I like it! Having built/driven a 8-second GT47 powered VQ setup before I can say you are in for a fun ride! Thanks for sharing. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

How do you guys feel about the gtx vs non gtx series? The compressor map is 'longer' but 'skinnier' in comparison to non x series. Do you get better spool and more peak power? I haven't seen any proof alongside the vq engines with the new garret turbos so i'm interested to see the results here!
