Is this normal for a vortech s/c? I just bought a vortech g35 and this noise just doesnt seem like its normal.

It doesnt sound like a worn belt, almost like a loud s/c whine while driving. I thought the whine noise only came while in boost....


any ideas? Anyone else have this loud whine noise while driving normal and sometimes at idle?

Just seeing if this is normal or I have to get it serviced.

Is the By pass valve. Sounds like a Jet

Sound a little louder than mine but the same.
When you get into boost it should go away and off boost come back again.
The whine noise is on the Roots type blowers
The BPV is open unless you are on boost.
Search for "Vortech BPV noise" and will find other threads on this and how to reduce it

 

The loud grinding noise coming from the blower seems louder than normal..If you are referring to the wooosh noise it's the BPV opening when you let up on the gas and venting air charge...

 

I was talking about the high pitch noise. The chatter noise is normal I heard but the whine noise is what im worried about.
