You Norcal Vortech owners are lucky to be able to hang around Z Car Garage...Us SoCal Vortech Z owners are few and all spread out and we rarely get together to take notes and stuff...

I might be taking a drive down south to meet up with family in North Hills, Ontario, then Paramount during the winter break. Maybe I can meet up if you have a local stop.

I stopped by ZCG today to go over some things with Rob. I was able to snap a few teaser pics for you all. Build is coming along and almost complete. Then on to the tune and delivery of car by next Wednesday.
Enjoy...

I like how the intercooler is blacked out...
Sleeper..
is it a special type of paint for intercoolers/radiators?
And w everything being done, n seeing how u got a polished upper plenum, u mind as well get the one piece vortech intake pipe w the built in maf sensor holder from strafe. Looks alot better than the multi piece that vortech makes u use.

Yes, Rob orderd some special paint. I totally agree with you on the piping, I have my name down with strafe on the a polish one piece tubing. But we need 10 peeps in order for him to build more. Might have to wait awhile.
I'm trying to go for the sleeper look. The body is staying stock. However with the gauge pod being smack in the middle and the sound the Vortech makes I doubt Im able to keep it under wraps.

Thanks. I will ask him about that. The Strafe pipe looks sweet too!
You think you can pm me the name of the paint he is using?
And who made your center console?
I take it its custom?
N have u thought about Using a 90 Degree silicone hose and a nice big filter?
this way u could have a cai below the driverside headlight instead of using that wedged vortech filter behind the radiator...
I believe there is also a custom intake pipe that places a filter above ur crash bar, behind ur bumper, that connects directly to ur blower... so its a cai that u dnt have to worry about water on rainy days, like w the above mod

The CAI Filter will be my next upgrade. I will PM info. I just need to get details from ZCG.
If you haven't already decided on which filter u r gonna use when u do the cai mod...

Doesn't it say somewhere that the vortech system doesntt like aftermarket headers n hfc's/testpipes?
something about how it needs around stock backpressure???
Im just working off of memory, but im pretty sure that's what I read and heard...

Also, wonder if a vortech system would benefit from greater amounts of volume in the intake manifold?
I mean, a supercharger is creating positive pressure/force feeding the cylinders (cylinders not feeding themselves)...
where as a natural aspirated system relies of vacuum created by the cylinders and atmosperic pressure to feed the cylinders..
and on a na system having a spacer/mrev2 lessens restrictions and allows the cylinder to breath more easily...
So would a spacer/mrev2 allow the supercharger to forcefeed the cylinders more easily?

also, and I might be wrong about this.... if a vortech system does improve w a spacer, wouldn't it have better results w say a 5/8" spacer and a mrev2 (on a nonrevup) compared to just a 5/16" And a reg nonrevup lower plenum?
