Default Twin Turbos and Coolant Temps

What do you guys see on a regular basis during a combination of normal and spirited driving? I routinely see temps between 190 and 210. Is this common? Seems a little warm but I didn't have a coolant gauge before the turbo install. Running the GTM Stage 2 with stock cooling system.

What do you see on your FI setup?

absolutely normal....The highest I have seen at sustained speeds ( Big bend open road race, no thermostat, koyo radiator) was about 215*...this was running ~ 135-140mph for 59 straight miles...April is fast approaching I can't wait to run again!

oh and btw.. My Z has greddy twins, all supporting mods and is currently 550 at the tire

I have seen mine in the 215 range, nearly 220 but that is not cruising at 60+. Just driving in stop and go traffic after spirited driving.

stop and go is bad for cooling

Those coolant temps are normal...even for a stock Z.

I have the GTM (PWR) radiator and rarely exceed 200f. Never measured it when stock..

Make sure both fans are blowing properly, there was a recall on the motors.

I didn't think the pathfinder mod was applicable on HR motors. I watched it today and it was around 195 to 205 on the way home. I think its fine. Both fans were blowing when I let it idle for a few minutes in the garage.

Thanks for all the replies.

Are you running stock fans? I had a custom C&R racing dual pass radiator on my SR powered S13. It was amazing.

Stock fans, yes. In fact, my original fans were both blown (spinning about 5rpm basically LOL). Even then, I never went above 215 sitting still in scorching weather. With new (stock) fans it never breaks 200, and now my A/C works again

Not sure if this might be of interest, but I'm seeing below temps. Thats from start and 2.30min+
(in my mind it's not great temps...)

That's on track.

I really think these cars just run warmer than we are used to. My buddy's TT HR almost mimics my temps exactly. Pretty normal I guess to see 195-210 Fahrenheit during any type of driving.

I suppose. I just got use to my last turbo car running much cooler but it was a dual pass radiator.

it shouldn't be running much cooler. You lose efficiency when running an engine that cool. That's why thermostats are set to open after 180*.

Yup that's normal. After 25 minutes on a road course my temps are only at like 200-210

I see 220 every once in a while but that's sitting in traffic and as soon as it hits 220 the fans kick in and it instantly drops back down to like 180-200 range.
