Dynosty - Tuning Finally Complete
If you guys remember I made a build thread awhile back and I was researching certain parts to achieve the goals I had for my car. I finished my build 2 years ago and got it tuned locally but was never really happy and was concerned about the tune.
Here are some links to some threads I made about my goals and my build
https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...ad-racing.html
https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...onversion.html

Well I would say 90% of my goals was reached and I'm thankful to Hal and the guys at Dynosty for their hospitality and making my goals come to a realization. the 10% of my goal that was not reached was due to a bottleneck of being internal wastegated and manifold design which I knew this would be a hindrance. I had made a thread long ago with this in mind but never was able to source the parts I needed to address the problem.
I scheduled a appointment with the guys at Dynosty for March 12 and got there on March 11 where Hal met me to put the car in the shop and take me to a hotel, can't beat hospitality like that. March 12 came and the car received a oil change first and a once over to make sure everything was right with the car. Hal and Eddie wire tied every Vacuum tube which I had not done. The car went on to the dyno shortly after where Hal started tuning my car. Hal found a issue with the way I had configured and wired certain sensor on my car which were not per the norm and we started troubleshooting it did not take long for us to find the issue and make the proper adjustment for my particular setup.
The car stayed on the Dyno for 3 days (70+ pulls) while Hal fine tuned my car even stayed working on it one day until 2am. The tune came out great and I cannot say enough good things to say about the treatment and service I received from the guys at Dynosty (Dustin, Eddie and Hal). I would recommend anyone that the trip to Dynosty is definitely worth it. The car pulls like a freight train through the RPM range.

Car looks striking - thanks for sharing videos. Congrats on the tune. Interesting how torque is maintained up there in the rev range after dipping a bit Can you correlate your build choices with the outcome (also what psi was that and with the std APS turbos)?

I was able to make the same HP on 15psi on cold turbos but I was averaging 17psi on hot turbos to make the same power. The turbos were not out of breath. The turbos were upgraded to GT3071R with Billet wheels by Blouch Turbo in PA. I think Hal will have more as to what was going and possible solutions.
I believe in matching the cams and turbos to work together at certain RPM ranges really complimented each other to make the power it made and at those RPM's. I also elected to up the compression a bit not by standard methods such as ordering custom pistons but by going with flat valves since I knew I wasn't going for max power but more for useable power to put down when coming out of turns and such at the track. I'm really loving the power band and how the power is not peaky so I can control the car with the gas pedal.
I saw your car there looking real good too and Abushong's

log manifolds vs turbine housings/wheels... probably both pretty restrictive. The GT30 wheels should be good to at least 30 psi if the controller could've ramped up boost predictably in the upper rpm range to balance torque. What exhaust do you have coming off the 3.5" downpipes?

I have a Greddy TT Exhaust but I swapped out the mid pipe for a custom 3" midpipe V-band. The mid pipe was done locally so it was crush bend until I'm able to source someone to make it for me mandrel bend. The exhaust goes from 3.5" DP to 3" mid and then the rest is still the Evo TT which is 2.75".
This was all pump gas and pushing alot of tire (345 rears on a 20x13" wheel).
Hal said I could probably put down 50 more HP on my track setup which are 18's.
We tried to run meth but that would increase torque but lower HP.

If you remember way back when I had asked if you planned on parting your kit after the last meltdown because I wanted to buy your manifolds and wastegate pipes.
Sascha that would be a dream come true if I could get manifolds with minimal modification to my existing piping

I drove through that hail storm Thursday and it's a 12.5 hr drive for me.
I'm still recouping from that drive
I might head back down with Ray (350zion) if he needs me to.
My friend was loving your car.
He took quite a few pictures of it
As a matter of fact Hal told me to speak to you about sourcing the APS manifold from the Extreme/Tuner kit

I drove it all the way down to Dynosty to make up for some lost time
Hiding from the hail storm on the way back
Hal I will definitely hit you up for a few things once I start working on that other motor

Just finished installing Pro Plug In and getting it running Woot
Tomorrow I will wire up the 2 step and finish buttoning everything up
Love the brake boosting and how VDC doesn't close the throttle
Thanks Hal
