It sucks right now, so just make it through this. It gets better when you realize the possibilities that are open to you now.
But a year from now when some n00b says "I blew my motor, it's smoking out the left tailpipe." You can post up pics of your plenum and say "did you blow bits of piston ring to the farthest corners of every part of your motor? No? Then stfu." Everyone will see the pics and cringe... kinda like one of those "best battle scar stories at the bar" type thing where a guy shows up that only has one leg, and he lost it saving a handicapped child and puppy from a burning building. You win, every time.

I will have pictures soon. I hope the turbo is still good. But there's thousands of pieces of metal in the oil pan. A snap ring, pieces or ring. It's bad. So I'm getting a factory motor or lsx swap.

6.0 LQ9. Only a little bit heavier, definitely cheaper, and.... when you decide you want boost again, that iron block will hold all the ***** you can throw at it! lol
Here's a friend of mine that's local that dropped one in his Sedan.

It's torn back down now for a turbo.

Don't be fooled though. These things are still quirky. He's had plenty of "troubleshooting" along the way.

LQ9 comes with high compression, the LQ4 has lower compression better suited for boost

turbo will be wiped as well. that metal is in everything that needed oil. AS long as its was a journal bearing, it is cheap to rebuild.
A LS swap will cost you around 10k as well and it definitely not straight forward yet.

people are suggesting something that veteran builders have yet to perfect to a guy that said he won't even swap out his stock block for another stock block (direct replacement). I guess people don't listen.
I'd rather have a boosted stock block than screw with all the trouble members are having with doing the swaps. Every single thread with a "swap kit" has turned out to be a nightmare for the person and they spent months of work trying to get it working properly. So far it seems only a few people that are shop owners or have a fabrication shop access have full working lsx swaps.

I'm buying a daily tomorrow or Friday. Sold my wheels. I know a lsx swap isn't cheap nor easy. But I have know where near enough to build a vq and keep the turbo kit. I'm not gonna just put another turbo kit on stock block. Nor do I want to just keep a stock motor in it and look at my turbo kit in the room. I'm thinking I can take my time on a lsx swap and get done within a month or so and have a daily a lsx 350z
