theres always the 700r4 ie 4l60(no e) as well its a bit lighter then the 4l60e since everything is mechanical i was able to pick one up and carry it up two flights of steps without any problems when i was swapping to a t56 in my 84 camaro.
tv cable should be easy to connect to the throttle pedal or you can use the constant pressure valve body and eliminate it completely. only electronics it needs is a minor 4 wire box and thats only if you need the converter to lock up. im all for simplicity though
slight update that trans ogiehooker is talking about is an even earlier version of the 700r4 and 4l60/4l60e the 700r4 is mch stronger then the 200 built vs built the 200 has gear ratios better for something shitting under 7k though and less drop between gears with a larger drop when it hits overdrive.

11 x 11 x 1.5" trans cooler is mounted on the passenger side in front of the AC condensor. A 10x8x1.5" oil cooler is mounter on the driver's side. Trans cooler in that location of that size works great, running 3/8" hoses. The oil cooler allows the oil to continue to get hot when pushing it, running -8an hose. It's a long run - I should've used -10an. I also think a smaller cooler with bigger hose in the passenger side wheel well area would've been a better spot. Might move it once I figure out the dimensions that will work.

Why don't you spend the money in cost on a daily driver. I have a 1200$ chevy s10 that I drive for many reasons. Keeps wear and tear off my expensive clutch and built engine, less chance for a random idiot to run into me on the way to work in traffic, no chance for someone to key it or damage it when it stays at home in the garage.....and of course my truck is an auto.
Honestly, I wouldn't drive a nice expensive built car to work every day for a lot more reasons than being a 6mt in traffic. Wear and tear is number 1 for me.

However I do think about taking my car to work on occasion but the hassle of driving it in traffic usually makes me stick to the truck. I often wonder if I had an auto like Raj or a friend of mine's 600whp GTR if I would drive it more often. I actually rarely even drive mine anymore

Not much traffic here. All my other cars are now AT. I'm missing a MT, but double minded with a car with this much power. 5AT is fun, easy, instant gratification, no worries on the road, just click-click-click to a big smile. No idea what i'll do. Quaife isn't very confident their "beefy" trans will even handle current power levels

Well folks going with a 6MT swap. Will be a nice change. I will miss my 5AT but I guess I am just bored with the car the way it is...
Anyone want dibs on a GTM built stage 3 5AT transmission (with paddle shifters and transmission cooler thrown in for free), PM me. It will be priced less than a stock trans and I can guarantee it will hold 550 whp. 25k miles since the build with fluid changes every 5-6k miles.

Yep going back to Dynosty. Having work done by Eddie and Hal is hard to beat.
binder, u got me thinking man... might get a new motor with a head package while I'm at it. Anyone want a perfectly good Forged Performance S1 that's run 25k miles? (cheap! PM me)

But in all seriousness, you make money and aside from this I don't remember you saying you had any other expensive hobbies. New motor sounds like a sweet plan.
Let me know when you head over. Louisville is only 4 hours away and I have some friends there so I would love to come over and hang.

Ok, i've gotten a number of PMs on my motor and trans already, so let me just post it here.
The transmission is from a 2004.5 G35 coupe (TCM integrated into the valve body) and it is a fully built GTM stage 3 trans (valve body, torque converter, rebuilt internals with clutch packs, bands, etc) that has had fluid changes every 5-6k miles and has 25k miles on it. It will be drained of fluid and available to ship at the end of Nov. Asking price will be $2500+freight shipping (~$400 to USA) when posted to marketplace. If you put a deposit down in advance, I'll let it go for $2k + shipping.
The motor will be a long block and the original that came with my car. The motor originally had 25k miles on it when built. Now it has an additional 25k miles. It has a FP S1 shortblock with Eagle rods, Arias ED pistons, JWT S2 cams. I have the full invoice from Forged if you want to see all the little parts like Cosworth bearings etc. Asking price for the long block will also be $2500 + freight shipping (assuming that the compression test results come back sound). The car makes solid power and burns minimal oil for a "loose" race motor, so I'm sure it'll be fine, but I will pay Dynosty to do the test and I will post it. The motor will likely not be available until mid-Dec.
