But in all seriousness, you make money and aside from this I don't remember you saying you had any other expensive hobbies. New motor sounds like a sweet plan.

Let me know when you head over. Louisville is only 4 hours away and I have some friends there so I would love to come over and hang.
Well, I have found a good transport company, so I will probably just ship the car. But, I will make a trip out to play with the car and test it out once it is complete. I will let you know. It'd be great to meet.

And these tiny turbos are supposedly good to near 30 psi, so...

It's great to hear you guys (Jeff, Raj, et. al) are still enjoying your babies! Can't wait to see the results Raj. Maybe I can come see your beast when she is done next time I am home in NC.

I've considered getting a used z and doing another build with BPs kit just to keep things interesting.

Ya, there were a lot of days I was sick of it but in the end after taking time away from it life goes on and it's still fun. I haven't been out for a cruise or late night highway fun since the spring due to my schedule but I know when my schedule frees up I'll be back at it again.

Well, the midwest season is going to be coming to an end. 650hp and cold pavement is a nasty experience. Hopefully you will be up here in the spring. If not I might be working at the hospital at Kings bay Georgia from feb-april.

30psi on those would be very nice . Mine is only tuned to 20psi and the supra guys are pushing the 6765 up to 36psi. I know the turbo has more than I'm willing to push on my engine. I'm scared

Car is headed back to Dynosty for the winter. New long block with headwork, valves and cams selected by Hal. Nothing special on the bottom end - just their usual short block recipe. And a built up 6MT... No car to tinker with for a couple months. Not sure what to do with my time from 11 pm to 1 am anymore

what compression ratio are you going with. I;d really consider 10:1. All the big builders are starting to raise their compression ratios since the EMS's all have very good timing and fuel control.

Are you seeing that on builds running pump gas though? I've noticed some recent big power Supra builds running 10:1 or above, but they were all running on E85 or E98.

I will be running 93 octane a good bit of the time since we only have our 1 e85 station down here. I don't think it's a good idea to raise the CR, esp. with the high pressure ratios these turbos are comfortable with. Good to see some of the OG still around What's up Mike?? How's that speed boat treating you?

thats still lower than stock compression. longer duration cams also drops your compression ratio even more. Is Hal doing 9:1 then?

You will never be running those turbos to high pressure ratios on pump gas anyhow.

Theres also E85 on 64 and 15/501 in pittsboro

Not 100% certain - let him pick everything but I think he chose 8.5:1 CP pistons, Carillo rods, L19, Ferrea valvetrain, Kelford cams, billet girdle, etc etc My only requirement was no sleeves and he didn't even suggest it at this power level 700-800 whp.

Pittsboro is even farther away but good to know there are some other options. The cruizers on 55 hopefully will keep e85 till I can get some use out of it.

FWIW, mine is 9:1. I def wouldnt go lower than that. my pump gas tune was well into the 700s.

This is something I have been looking into recently as well. It is only an extra $100 to get a set of CP's built to whatever CR you want. We have 94 octane up here, and I was thinking about low 9's:1 vs. the regular off the shelf 8.5's.

I think the motor's done already (was prepared in advance). So I will have to be satisfied with 1% less power off boost I don't sense much turbo lag with these turbos, so hopefully I should be ok.

When I did my research, comparing some dyno numbers I found that the max power would be about the same. It was the response and the lowe end power band that improved with the higher CR:

----------8.5:1 -- 9.7:1

3000rpm: 237tq 280tq +43
3500rpm: 270tq 330tq +60
4000rpm: 345tq 430tq +85
4500rpm: 460tq 510tq +50

Both of those were simple short block DE builds, with stock heads, cams, intake..ect. Same turbo kits of course. Both ended up making a peak of about 600whp on pump. I am still on the fence myself to be honest, so I am just throwing it out there.
