Thanks, much appreciated! I tried to put her togeter the best I could, keeping her agressive but not too over the top.

She made it there to Dynosty this AM in good shape! Good to know she is in good hands now and will be getting her heart transplant!

I hope to have some pics of the work and components going into her to post soon.

Ok so got a cpl pics today from Hal and she is being put together . Waiting on the Kelford cams however that are a bit overdue. Hope to hear more on that soon...

I also have a pic of the powdercoated timing cover but... It almost looks too good to post by itself and kinda want to wait until assembly to post that up. I am very happy with how the color came out on that!

Here is the top and botom end though

Just got off the phone w/ Carl at 928 and paid for my rebuild and new impeller... Dynosty has the SC off the bracket and it's on it's way to 928 now.

Also upgrading to a Walbro 400 in tank and a stage 0 fuel return... On my set up I don't think I need more than that to get the proper fuel for the SC.

Still just waiting on those Kelford cams to show up... Those things are a bit late to the party... May start looking at a different cam if these things are backordered for very much longer.

Only takes a week to turnaround from 928... Still waiting on the cams from Kelford so all is good. Didn't see the need to mess with it myself before shipping it out there.

Yeah it's all good, he uses Vortech spec bearings. I had Hal spin mine there at Dynosty and he said it was still smooth but with 70k+ miles on it I figure it is just as well to replace them with the new motor build so they don't give out within the first couple thousand miles.

I need to find that calculation sheet that tells how fast I will be spinning the blower with the 6.61 ATI crank + 2.87 pulley.

what is going to be your rev limiter? ( i would set it for at least 7000rpm

32/28 cog?

Are you going with the 928 impeller? I would.....

Also remember when calculating impeller speed with a sept there will always be some slip.....

Going to stay with the stock Cog set up for now until I know how she does, I will be over spinning her as it is w/ the ATI / 2.87 and don't want to push it too hard in the beginning...

Yeah, I ordered the impeller and the rebuild kit today so she will have all new guts when she gets installed.

Here's your impeller speed calculator from Vortech; use the first one...

Ok cool.... So I will be over spinning by a bit but not 'too much'

With the 6.61 ATI crank, stock cog set up, and the 2.87 @ 7000 rpms I will be spinning her at 66,514.56 if I go to the 34 she will spin at 70,671.72...

Think for now I will play it a bit safe and keep her on the 32 cog... It will just be good getting back in the drivers seat...

But for grins, how much more HP is to be gained w/ spinning the blower at 4k more rpms?

To give you a bit of a point of comparison, in my 500whp setup, I was spinning it at about ~63krpm...

In my 600whp I was spinning it about ~70krpm...but I truly cannot reiterate enough how much I don't recommend spinning it that much...

Oh... Hmmmmm, ok got to think this thru especially being a 5AT. My CR will be at 9.5:1 so hope that takes the power down a 'tad' and the larger intercooler should keep the PSI down just a bit as well... Not sure I want to be up in the 500's personally due to my transmission. I am getting a tranny cooler and the transgo kit but still, if the TQ is in the 400's the tranny will probably not last all that long. I'll see what kind of power she is putting down w/ the 2.87 and if it puts out too much stress I can always put the 3.12 back on there and spin it at 61,184.87...

I was looking forward to the 2.87 tho and getting into the powerband a bit earlier.

I'm not looking for a dyno queen or anything, I just want some fun, 'reliable', streetable driving

Wishfull thinking?

Was thinking (yeah a dangerous thing) that with a larger surface area and depth it would create a slight pressure drop by one or so psi.

Well, it will, but less than a smaller intercool. "This is a Good thing". Less pressure drop means the Blower will not have to work as hard to make the same HP.

Bigger Intercool= Less pressure drop @ X CFM

And Boost is measured at the Intake Plenum

Well then.... Here is to praying that the tranny will hold up for a good while at least.

Will start out w/ the 2.87 and cross fingers that the TQ is at a manageable upper 300ish / low 400 area.
