Sfr takeover
A final designed was determined for the trunk area, encompassing the water/meth tank, a relocated trunk mounted odyssey ER40 battery and a new AL trunk lid.
A center mounted AL box running from the rearmost area of the trunk near the trunk latch, to the front most part of the trunk under the strut support will be built (see photo for general idea of trunk layout-old tank shown). The rear most 1/3 of the box will have sides and top welded to make a w/m tank. the center section will contain the w/m pump. the front most section will be where the ER40 battery is mounted with a disconnect switch, 1/0 wire.
The ER40 battery has specs similar to the 1200 series (much better than 680 series) of odyssey batteries but is only 3.5 inches thick, making it easier to mount under the stock trunk lid height.
The AIS w/m tank will be sold as it is 3 inches taller than the trunk lid and I want it all to fit under w/o a protrusion.
The nice thing is the making of one long AL box to the trunk lid height allows the w/m-battery box to serve as a support structure for the AL trunk lid above....killing several birds with one stone.
NEW pics soon!

coated parts returned.....assembly beginning....water/meth/battery relocation to trunk design being refined further with kinetic 1400W battery as ER40 is harder to find W/M tank and mechanical area cover with serve as support for carpeted trunk area above...should have tank and battery side by side under subwoofer and mechanical area with w/m pump, DC switch, battery terminals, wiring etc towards the rear, accessible via an AL door above...should look slick with anodizing/powder coating and be a more or less drop in setup into the trunk area.
Well, Tim at SFR just had a new baby girl....he's back in the shop now and has installed the powdercoated core support, heat dispersamt coated IC, radiator and twin oil/trans coolers...Pics below.
next, IC ceramic coated piping, ceramic coated intake, w/m - trunk mounted battery pak......

coated parts mostly assembled....roll bar, seats, w/m tank, battery relocation, CF hood, paint etc going forward..

Tks bud.....you'll have to go see whats up in the trunk area soon! Roll bar being built..headligths, harness etc going in as well...hope its fired up within a few weeks....Im keeping Tim busy with his fabrication skills.
box will be anodized gold with powdercoated blue "wings", polished silver battery and w/m hold down brackets...led's will illuminate the working components i.e. fusable link to battery, power cords, pump, filter etc...
lexan will cover the opening dso its see thru...
TIM'S work is amazing.......more to come

Motor was disassembled last wither when Tim when to turn the engine over....it wouldn't....Oil pan was pulled, rod hitting block (por build, lack of attention by Sam at GTM and his people). Tim pulled the engine, remachined the block for crank clearance, and then had to beat his money out of Sam..Put me behind quite awhile. We are now finding numerous items that were removed from the car that weren't returned from Sam to Tim (drivers side headlight ballast and ignitor=400 bucks, various adapters, bolts, clamps etc).
As you can see, the motor is in, final pieces neeed to be attached (fuel pressure regulator, fans-Sams fan shroud won't fit with the new tube support, wiring moving a few things around etc...
Tim's currently finishing the trunk mounted battery-water-meth box then we'll be starting/tuning motor.
Roll bar, seats, harness, cf hood are on back burner until engine is up and running.
TKS gabe! 2.5 yrs and going

Tks Eno..haven't talked with you in awhile...hows your ride doing these days? I think you will that the water/meth/battery box will look awesome when we are done-side plates will be anodized blue with holes cut for accents with polished SS showing through the holes down the sides....allen head bolts will be placed around the edge to break up the stark flatness and plainness of a raw chunk of AL....inside lining of box will be lined with DEI gold foil tape (little will show through as the battery, w/m tank, pump etc will be on top of it). Pump cover will be polished SS..battery and w/m tank hold downd will be polished AL...I may have him build an AL anodized blue plate to cover the speaker box to add continuity to the trunk area...we will see...
Also, not shown yet, is a filler tube for the differential which will stick through into the w/m box just bellow the subwoofer box...allows for easy draining/filling of differential..will have a polished AL billet cap like the 2 small coolant overflow cans under the hood.

latest photo of water/meth/battery box for trunk....pump is under small cover....0 gauge wire to battery will have breaker install and a power distribution block....differential fill tube going in next...will come out right in front of tank/battery at the front of the box...
W/M lines will all be hard lines with inline filter
TOP is covered with 3/8' lexan so the box internals are always visible if you remove the carpet from the trunk area.
Battery hold down is via thumbscrew in center of larger hole...attaches to old spare tire hold down lug.
cant wait to paint, anodize and coat this thing....
TIMS THE MASTER FABRICATOR!

w/m/b box getting close to coating...I decided to use some quick release pins on the "batwing" side panels so I can easily access a stash oh 1 gal w/m on one side and a toolbag on the other.
Top is 3/4" lexan, etched around the perimeter..Not sure what hold down type of the lexan yet..could be hex bolts, dzus, quick releae etc....
Quick release for w/m tank/battery hold down boxes is in the center of the 3 holes.....big thumbscrew.....

Here is the remote diff fill tube located in the front of the water/meth/battery box area in the old spare tire area...coated parts returning and final assembly up next...
