Default Thanks!

VQ.TURBO.DREMZ, TOTALD AND TRIJI...Tks for the compliments....working hard (or at least Tim ay SFR is), to make something unique.....almost there....

Looks like there isn't enough time to install the th4xxx ytansmission, roll bar, seats, paint etc I wanted....have to stick to my original plan and break it in with the IPT 5 at and swap it out in the summer maybe......

I did buy some new enkeis-SBC and nitto nt05's-275/35/18 and 295/35/18......have the old enkeis (like new with toyo t1's for sale).....

Oh and the catch can/powersteering can/bracket setup you were asking about was fabbed by Tim at SFR...all billet AL 6061 I believe...... will be anodized gold (cans) then either silver ceramic coated bracket or clear coated and polished....
Those cans came out looking great sir. Actually really like the outcome so far of the whole car. Regardless if you getting your hands dirty are not, props to putting together a well thought out ride.

I'm going to need a good bit of gold foil haha. With my turbos by the frame I definitely need everything I can to keep the heat down.

Look forward to next updates!!

Loving the build.
Can you explain what is going on with the radiator hardline to the center of the motor?

It looks like he used the HR cooling pipes.

Default Hr pipes

Sure, midz is correct...I used a custom made HR cooling setup (after GTM REFUSED to return the one they built), by SFR....decided I wanted the "hardpipe look", so Tim fabbed one up for me...lower is a hybrid of silicone and SS pipe (not shown).

I wanted to provide better cooling for the heads and get rid of all the extra crap on the passenger side of the engine...plus the HR style is easier to burp the air from the system...

Glad you like the build..I will have the car returned in Feb. as I will be going to SA for 2 weeks and want the car before I leave...

I WON'T have everything done I want (roll bar, seats, th400, pnp haltech etc), but I'll drive it as is for awhile and decide where to go from there.

I see the Kinetix back on there- it just a placeholder for the custom plenum that Tim was fabbing up?

I haven't read anything good about the K plenum... not with FI (not with NA either actually) except that it looks "neat."

I'm confident you'll be suitably impressed with the IPT. It's still an AT, I get it... and I'm quite certain it'll have its drawbacks- but it isn't a pussypants trans solution.

Yea, K is there for the time being..good for low boost break in anyway...Since I can't seem to get the GM tranny in at this time, I will keep it low boost until 5aT and/or K manifold craps out...

After almost 3 yrs working on this, I bought a used Honda CBR 954 for 4500 bux, already completely modded...cheap adrenalin and can move through traffic much easier than a car...

Looks like I'm going back to being a bike guy after 30 yrs off...

Bet ur Azz is cold up north! lOL

Yeah... bit of a rough one. -38C when I got into work... though fortunately it is up to -35C now that the sun is out.

With that being said, I think I'd rather it be -38 than +38.

Default C

Ill take CA 38C ANY day over anything below 0C!
Doesn't really get HOT here until 110F or over...100F-38C is quite tolerable..

TO EACH HIS OWN! How's ur IPT doing? I hear TEIJI might be having issues with his trans/motor...

Yeah, I saw that. I have submitted some links to some of the help I was getting back in the day. I do recall my tuner pointing out a little squiggle on one of my sheets- but nothing like his. I looked at my finished sheet and it was smooth by comparisson.

I appreciated that Hal was open with the fact that he wasn't as comfortable with AT versus the MT tunes- there are some particulars that RCDash and Djamps had pointed out to me back then that I'm wondering might be partly to blame...

The car is currently up on stands for now... going to take some time over the winter with a (now) heated garage and try and learn a thing or two about it. I have winters but I won't even bother putting them on this season.

If you're like me, you'll get your car back in Feb and just get tired of having to hand it over to do the rest of your upgrades...I think you'll be satisfied. It'll be fast, unique and off the hoist- which is a good combination.

Even with the best of builds- there will be plenty to keep your wallet busy in upkeep and maintenance. Glitches, wear and tear... teething problems- look at me, speaking redundantly again.

I hear ya..off the hoist sounds nice! Been up in the air going on 3 yrs,,,
I'll do most of my own work in the future..even if I am slow, I'm not THAT slow...and I give a Shiite! (unlike most shops).

Just hope start goes well..since GTM didn't clearance the block for the stroked, I have always wondered what else they didn't give a **** about when building the block....

9.5-10.5 +15 X 18 and Nitto 05's 275/35 295/35...anyone see anything horribly wrong with fitment? Doesn't look too bad from what I see (rubbing wise).

Rear looks manageable with a roll and pull but the front might be tricky without some neg. camber. I say go widebody.

I just saw the car in person, it is super clean. I mean, the underside of his car is cleaner than the outside of a lot of cars. Really impressive!

I'm looking at that picture of the front tire, all I see is my car sitting in the same spot it has been in for a year.

Default I hear ya!

I knew that if I didn't get my car by thanksgiving, that it would be FEB due to the crazy season...I hear ya bro...had a nice rant the other nite with Tim....as I have said, I have gone back to bikes...much cheaper faster and enjoyable IMO...I came from a bike background so, that was a logical conclusion...
