Yea it actually picked up a good bit of boost. Was seeing 21-22 w crappy filter now seeing 24-25psi. Which is great for power but it made me max out my pump. went to 1200cc injectors and a walbro 450. Still maxing out my pump so installed a Kenne bell Boost-a-pump for now. Eventually will go to a twin pump setup but the boost a pump is working very well. Finishing up the tune and she will see a dyno again. Should make a decent power jump, she made 608whp at 18 psi with a 8.8:1 motor. Now it's at 10.0:1 compression and 24psi so we will see. But she runs super strong

W a digital thermo under hood temps were almost a full 30 degrees cooler after a short drive with the vents then they were without them. What I was most impressed with was the fact the coolant temps on my gauge stayed at 180 degrees through wot pulls in this Texas high 90 degree weather

Depends how comfortable you are with hacking into your hood. Real big openings and the vents come close to the rivet holes so just gotta make good cuts and measure twice

Update, it's been a year since the IPP motor let go at last years 1/2 mile event... the garage rebuild and car has been great still. A lot more racing and she's doing great. We even managed a 160MPH pass in the standing half mile event this weekend!

Just to be fair for people that don't read your whole thread, your motor that we built ran flawlessly for over 2 years and many track events.

It "let go" when you had a blower belt come off doing over 140 mph at a 1/2 mile event. Not because of a faulty motor.

If you have ever watched top fuel cars loose a belt; it is not pretty what happens to the motor. You are basically flooded with fuel and no forced induction/air to burn it off. Any motor would self destruct in that situation.

Just wanted to be clear on that.

Yes that was stated when the motor let go a few page ago I believe. Hopefully anyone reading this thread actually reads a couple post and doesn't jump to conclusions but I deff coulda used a few better choice words there. I got my money's worth out of that motor. 2 years of road racings and tons and tons of 7600r hard pulls/drag racing and it just so happen to let go at that event when the belt let go.

But threw a belt at about 140mph at the end of 4th gear and threw oil out the valve covers when it happen. Pulled back into the pits, threw a new belt on and she was knocking pretty good. She never lost oil pressure as far as I know and still has good pressure at idle. Never got hot either. Will be breaking into her some soon. Not sure what direction I will go from here. May rebuild and keep pressing. Or make the swap to the LS world for the convenience of parts availability and reliability. Or may sell everything and start a LS 240sx build for road racing. We will see.

it should also be noted that I blew many Belts on that motor without any issues to the motor at high rpm. Just did it in that last time

No worries. You would just be surprised at how many people don't read or misinterpret something.

I just wanted to be clear

Glad your car is still out there kicking ***
