ATI Chewing up cog belts...Your thoughts???

Now I originallythought that the #of teeth would have to DECREASE..But it stays the same..The stock ones were
27-38 for 65 also..But the increased size of the larger pulley and the decreased smaller pulley makes the blower spin faster..I also found out tha you CAN mix the pulley combos + or - 1 tooth..
so you can have a 40 and a 24 or 26 for different boost combos..
Thanks Bonz!
Hey anyways about this teeth thing I too am interested in your boost level because I am still right in the middle of this situation myself.
I originally had a 38/26, we all know it was supposed to be a default 38/27 and ATI sent me a 27 for free Kudo's to them
Then I ordered the 9 lbs or "more boost" as ATI refers to them and got the **41** **25**.
I should have been sent a 40 and I am sort of miffed.
I mean I got a 26 and a 41 and you got a 40 and 27
Long story short is you can go up to 66 teeth on the belt not 65 (ha-ha that was my little secret and ATI can confirm.)
So I have the 41 on there which limited me to
41-25 the belt fit but made 11 pounds even when Tadshi drove it. Not once but every single run!
So if I had a 40 errrr.
Anyways I am glad you resolved this but more info would be great like how much boost you are making, you were at pounds with the 7 pound kit so I bet you are over 9 now it's all math at this point! Bettef fix that timing and A/F man!
I am gonna start a new thread on this and encourage all ATI owners to participate to help the community.
I don't want to thread crap just congratulate you and encourage to share more to help us!

That should read you made 8 pounds with the 7 pound pulleys (above) so I expect this new combo to put you well over 9 pounds. (Slowly getting used to my new hours of waking up in the morning rather than going to bed.)
Well tp answer the good Doctor..Yup,sending me a free one
Now from what ATI explained to me about boost , its NOT directly relavant to HP,and the higher the number is not always more efficient. For example, the stock 7lb kit o a bone stock car may see 8lbs of boost...Now put that same kit on a car with Headers, cats, full exhaust and you may see 7lbs of boost but more hp!!!I know it sounds crazy but the second engine has less backpressure and is more efficient..The only true way is to know how much CFM of air you are actually flowing..Strange huh?
MAX is correct that you can go to 66 teeth on the pulley combos and you can also go to 64 teeth..+ or - one tooth from stock ,which should be 27/38 for 65..So when ATI sells you pulley for a boost increase, remeber its based on theory.. Each car is different and will see a different number, but relatively the same..
As far as you having 41 and 25,that probably would make 11-12 lbs when the 40 and 25 might make 9lbs..The increased size and tooth count in the larger pulley is like switching gears on a 10 speed bike..The bigger the ring on the front and smaller on the back the faster you have to pedal to go the same speed..Now if you relate this to the procharger you can see why changing the front pulley by only 1 tooth will make such a drastic increase in boost..By increasing the size and count of the larger puley(one tooth doesnt seem like much right?) you are now spinning the Supercharger more times than before while still maintaning the same engine revolutions..Now if you did the opposite and increased the smaller pulley and decreased the larger one you would loose boost cause you would have to spin the engine much faster to maintain the same RPM's on the blower as before..
This change in tooth and size might be spinning the blower 7000 to 12000 rpms faster than before(thats just a number I picked) and creating more boost sooner...Pretty cool huh?
I will let you guys know what boost levels I see when I get my timing taken care of..Remember I only made 6.5 lbs of boost on the dyno for 375 hp..But I think the guy's guage was faulty cause I see like 7 when Im driving...

Oh, BTW Max, it's KUDOS, not Kidos
