Head Lift?
So, just a quick update.
The car has been running solid out of boost; I’ve probably put another 6-7k miles on the car since I created the thread back in April of last year (wow, time flies...), no overheating, etc. Unfortunately, when I get into boost (as little as 9 psi) the coolant overflow fills up and spills over in a hurry (all the while coolant temps stay steady), so I’m pretty sure I still need to swap the ARP 2000 head studs out.
I’ve picked up a pair of HKS head gaskets and ARP L19 head studs and those’ll be going in in a few weeks hopefully. I’m planning on pulling the front core support off and having the heads pulled for the gaskets and studs.

Dynosty has a similarly designed HG for less cost, just FYI. Would love to see your old HG when you pull it. If there are focal points that appear melted, I would consider swapping to Evans coolant (expensive but may be worthwhile in the long run).
I'll make sure I have plenty of pics of the tear down, gaskets, etc. I'm also pretty sure I'm going to make the switch to Evans as well!
Evans is cheap insurance....youll spend 90 bucks on it vs like 20-30 on regular coolant. Is 60 bucks going to make or break a build?
The hard part is draining the block completely of all water/coolant.

Thanks, wish I had waited for ARP to just stock L19's again rather then jumping the gun and picking up 2000's, live and learn I guess...
Has anyone setup a coolant/radiator pressure sensor?
I have before but it is pretty boring, so I disconnected it. It goes up to 18 psi (my cap pressure) and just sits there. I guess if you are worried about a HG leak it might be worthwhile to monitor but I figure if you have a HG leak, you'll find out anyway. It's not like early warning is going to help you any (except to maybe tell you to stay out of boost).

Only instance I'm aware of. I assumed that maybe he was running too much timing, not sure though...

I think it comes down to the HG at that point (assuming l19's are torqued over 90)
^ you will be fine. There is nothing magical about 600 whp. Plenty of open deck, non-sleeved VQ35de motors running 600-1000 whp with HKS headgaskets+L19. With water based coolant you have to be super careful about cylinder temps, vapor formation, etc and cannot flog the car on the dyno or on the track. With Evans this is much less of a concern.
