V3 Kit install on my 04 Track.... some takeaways
So, about 1.5 years ago, I picked up a used V2 kit on Ebay....MISTAKE. I got half way through the install and decided it was too risky with the used kit. Removed it all and sold it cheap. Last month, I purchased a V3 kit from Superchargers Online. Good folks, but almost a month of lead time. I started the install on Monday AM and overall, took about 8 hours to install the kit. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the difficulty of install a 4...make it a 5 if V2 Kit requiring pan removal and block tap. Some takeways on the newer kits:
-Comes with Gates belt now(K060795), no Gatorback. This size worked perfect with the 2.87 and extra pulley....saves time on belt research.
-Air Filter comes with the crankase vent adaptor already installed on the back of the K&N filter....you dont have to figure it out yourself.
-Still does NOT include vacuum line for bypass valve....really?
-Still only 1 intercooler Bracket, makes no sense as it would be cheap and easy to do the other side....Made My own out of some scrap aluminum I had sitting around. It works.
-Bend on Driver side pipe to intercooler still terrible...not bent correctly.
-Jackshaft cog still sits way too close to the pipe near the dispstick....There has to be a fix as there is literally 1-2mm of clearance
-V3 oil dipstick....will probably just measure what I drain and put in that exact amount....much easier than pulling the charger every time I wish to check the level....probably should have gone V2 since I had already tapped the block...o well.
Some of the things I added and learned the hard way:
-2.87 pulley rubs the outer lip of the jackshaft. When I tightened the pulley down, the jackshaft would literally not spin. Got the tip from Timrod to basically take the lip down with a grinder/dremel so the interference is no longer there.
-Added an idler pulley "GTM" style and realized it hit the hood support, had to cut a portion out...disappointing, but the extra grip will be worth it.
Here are some pics...Going to Intec Next week for dyno time. Will be running Walbro 255, OEM R35 injectors and Uprev. Also going to oem plenum with spacer and ditching the Kinetix intake.....worried about durability under boost.
Pic of where the 2.87 rubs on Jackshaft....

My supporting bracket for Left side of intercooler...would be so easy for Vortech to create a better option. Also, see the ill fitting pipe....will probably modify later so it sits better, but not that big a deal i guess.

Where i had to knotch my hood support to clear the extra idler pulley...

slight belt rub....grinded the cover down a tad....probably not that big a deal but I have a dremel

Thanks meanz....cant wait to get her tuned...I will admit she is a Garage queen...probably waxed more than washed and hasnt seen a day of rain in 2.5 years. Only 49k miles, so motor is nice and healthy and hopefully will hold up well with a good tune.

Update...hit the dyno at IntecRacing yesterday. Spent the day there and after only making 360whp with shaky power curves, we discovered the issue was the oil filler rubber was caught in the manifold...doh(no, not installed by me). After solving that issue made a 3rd gear pull. Made 385whp on a VERY conservative tune. I will be getting retuned with an even colder plug so we can add timing and increase torque. Boost seemed to peak at 9lbs, which seems low for 2.87 pulley, but not getting belt slip. Didnt hear it on the dyno, but did on the drive home some fluttering, so I am going to play with the bypass valve. Overall very happy with the car as it is.
Congrats on your numbers! Your power level is a bit low for a 2.87 but there could be many factors why. Perhaps the 570cc GTR injectors were maxing out, what was the max duty cycle for them?

On your pulley, we did the same thing on my brothers 2.87 pulley. Garbage, absolute garbage. We shaved the lip as well and all works fine and flawless now.
I've been a fan of vortech super chargers for years, but really lost respect for their design abilities after the v3 for the Z33. Lots of minuscule things like you mentioned above that really make the difference between good and great. For example, we just installed a BP 67/66 single kit on an HR and right down to the zip ties and taps independent package came, never see anything like it and Sasha has been on the money from day one.

Nice numbers man!
I had the same problem with the driver side intake piping, I wound up cutting 2-3" off of it on the intercooler side and it fits pretty well now.
And yeah I still cant believe a kit that costs over 5K doesn't come with a bracket for the drivers side of the IC.

UPDATE.
Finally got in to dyno tune down at Intec Racing in Kent, WA. Only mods from last dyno to this are Injen intake set up and swapped out stock Vortech cooler with Treadsone 1045 FMIC. Outdoor temp was around 10f higher today than previous dyno, but the mods cooled intake charge quite a bit. Car saw peak gains of 41whp and 30ftlbs Tq. Lawrence was also able to tune out my pesky hot start issue. Shout out to Lawrence at Intec for his tuning and Charles at Gerber Motorsports for FMIC install.

^ looking good. Congrats!
Where is the write up for your 1000 hp custom TT set up!?
