Pretty cool TT build!!. You must feel quite satisfied having completed the install after all the trial and error fitment issues you went through. Do you ever regret selling the Vortech kit?
Only thing I regret is not seeing what that ysi was capable. I can always do another ysi another time. I should be updating this thread soon.
Nice build! I am at 713whp @ 21psi on E85 with the HR/VHR kit. Unfortunately the medium actuators that come with the kit won't hold past 21psi. To make anymore I would need to swap to the hight boost actuators but if the motor is ever pulled again I'd be more inclined to switch to the 7163 core upgrades.
Been a while so I'll update. Good news and bad news.. Start with the bad first. Bad news, I no longer have the white z. She has been retired. Ended up in a bad accident and it was a total loss.
Good news! The entire front of the z was untouched. So I went out and picked this up. I only have $1000$ into it. I've already made back my money by selling parts off it that I didn't want. This is how I picked it up a month ago.
With a huge help from Taywan we were able to get it looking pretty good again. This z will be getting on a huge diet. Will be selling the leather seats and putting something lighter in. Will also be gutting everything. Carpet, plastics, all metal behind the seats. Time to make something I always wanted to do.
Finally got tuned. Rented local dyno and had Hal remote tune. Base line pull on wastegate pressure was 388/330 8psi. Lot lower than I expected but was also told the dyno hurts feelings lol. After couple hours of tuning we pulled out 598/540 at 18psi. Z pulls extreme smooth throughout. Set up boost by gear, 1st is wastegate, 2nd is 15psi, and 3-6 is 18psi. My photobucket is acting up but I'll post pics in a min.
Gonna beat on it while and possibly turn it up on different fuel later. For now I'll just get used to it for a little bit and see what she does on the track.
Seems like you are also seeing that blip in boost right after the ramp up. I thought I was the only one seeing it. Do you have a plot of your boost and do you know how much preload you put on the iwg?
I don't have it at the moment but I can prolly do some runs soon and check. I set the preload on the wastegates per Borg warners instructions. I don't know it off the top of my head, but I followed what they said to do.
