Question 8.8CR without Supercharge Performance

Hay, recently i order build parts 8.8 Wiseco Piston, Brain Crower Rods, etc for my VQ35DE, now summer start here very hot so plan to put Vortech Supercharger later, so if i use 8.8cr on NA it really affect on performance? current mods list below :-

POP Charger Intake
Ported Lower plenum
Blox 5/16 plenum spacer
NWP 75mm Throttle body
Tomei Headers, Test pips, Y pipe
Greddy SP Elite Exhaust

8.8CR build

Thanks

Yes you will lose power.

From what ive been reading, you will loose a lot of low end and midrange with that compression ratio. Unless you plan on overspinning your Vortech with smaller pullies and/or jackshafts or upgrading your blower trim to produce a higher CFM and boost rate earlier. Near stock compression of around 10.3.1 rebuilds are ideal for Centri/Roots style supercharging. Good luck on your build, sir.

"a lot" = about 5-10% with a 1 point change in compression ratio. So not that much. That said, since you really cannot overboost with a SC, it is safer to up the compression ratio to a value where it will not knock for the fuel you plan to use.

Lower compression is a great choice for turbos - you will always make more power on lower compression for a given octane as long as the turbos remain efficient at the boost you plan to run.

Yes but you are still increasing cylinder pressure. You can always add spray. Considering people choose S/C's across the board for ease of install, nitrous is just a hop step further. It isn't very much $ especially with a blower, to pick up some hp. A 50 shot will get you over 75whp, and with the lower comp you can feel secure that you won't run into issues.

Got to agree with what's been said already. You will loose power running lower compression, but not a ton. To play the other side of that coin though, if you plan on going with the blower set up you can definitely get away with running something a little higher, or you can use the lower compression and run nitrous, its really dealers choice on what you want to do with the car.

up the compression low compression is for turbo builds.....

up it to 10: something.....run nitrous

better yet scrap your SC build go turbo.....massive twin turbos....>=^)
