Quick update, I haven't lost hope on building this Z lol. I bought 96mm Tomei Head gaskets from Z1 Motorsports and they are enroute. Shop has not done the compression test yet and I emailed them on when they were going to get that completed. Once my tax return hits, my plan is to buy the L19 head studs, resurface and inspect the heads, buy CJM stage 2 fuel system and 1200cc injectors, and lastly repair the blower and possibly see if I am able to turn it in for credit on a Ti trim Vortech Supercharger. I will start looking around the market place if anyone may be selling any of the items I plan on getting or talking to vendors for a quote this week.

Currently using an AEM 320lph but I am wanting to shoot for the Walbro 450. It's just over a hundred bucks. Not sure if it is plug and play like the AEM.

Vortech does have a Trade in program, but they will give you very little toward your New Blower.

Better off selling it and Buying a New Ti from a Dealer with a much lower price than Vortech.

"VORTECH ONLY SELLS AT RETAIL PRICE"

The are many Good Dealers at there, Pm me and I can give you a few names.

Thanks Oldman, once the time comes I'll pm you for those names.

Another update, I ended up buying the CJM S2 early, thanks to phunk2 for the killer deal! Now the hunt for 1200cc Injectors.

Any reason you're going with a 450 instead of a 485?

It's the same pump. The Walbro 485 pumps 450lph, that's just the number I used to show how much more fuel it's capable of providing.

Oh dur thats right. I was thinking of the different Walbro 400. Don't see people call it the 450 much.

No worries and my bad if you got confused.

So I am starting to buy everything I need now, after the shop completes the new Tomei head gasket and L19 install, as well as installing my CJM stage 2 fuel system, I am taking the car back from them and will be doing the rest myself including tuning. I have a feeling I know more about UpRev than he does.

New V3 928 impeller setup will also include the 2.87 pulley and 7100 redline once completed. If I can get a TI trim I will just keep the 3.12 on there.

Good to hear things are moving forward and everything is getting straightened out. Did you already purchase the L19 head studs? I have a new set if you didn't. I can save you a little cash.

I have L19 studs already, thx.

Majority of the issues are straitened out, now since the shop promised to replace the head gaskets for free labor they are taking their sweet a** time with the repair. Car hasn't been touched yet. I've called several times including my wife and he never answered or returned my call. When my wife went to visit the shop on Friday they were closed early at 130 yet their business hours are till 6. I don't want to think this man is avoiding me but the evidence that he is is growing.

The sooner this guy fixes my car and I hightail my Z outta there, the sooner I will continue this build. Last time I will do business with him. I'm just gonna do the CJM S2 fuel return installation on my own, Staisman made a pretty good DIYer on it so it should not be that hard, definitely a weekend job.

I honestly would not let them touch it, ESP w the mistakes they have already made i would push for a financial reimbursement and have someone else do the work. Once you take it off the lot. If they made any mistakes they won't warrenty it they will say it's your tune or something else. Just what I would do. Best of luck.

And I agree, but I will take the chance for them to own up on the issue they caused and fix it correctly. Often times I give folks too many chances, I hope it doesn't bite me in the rear.

Received an email stating the following:

"I would like to first apologize for delaying the return of your email. We have been very busy at the shop.

Secondly, I did the compression test and the cylinder leak down test. The results are as follows:

Cylinder 1 - 210
Cylinder 2 - 217
Cylinder 3 - 200
Cylinder 4 - 200
Cylinder 5 - 200
Cylinder 6 - 200

The leak down test results are cyl 1 0% leak-down cyl 2 100% leaking down in to the coolant system. i stop the test after making that discovery."

So my original guess that the head gaskets I used on the rebuild failed was correct. Good thing I bought them already, ill be dropping them off sometime in the week so they can finally get this over with.

I bought an OEM replacement gasket set from Z1motorsports.

https://www.z1motorsports.com/cylind...ir-p-3195.html

It didn't have an option for 96mm since im .020 overbored. Could of been the issue, not sure. Either way the Tomei's are going in. Lesson learned.

Just to update, car is still at the shop due to a lot of customers and is pretty much on the back burner for attention. While the car is still there, I ended up changing my mind and told them to install the CJM S2 as they were only charging me 4 hrs of labor. Once the car is completed I will update again on my plans for tuning and hopefully get some good numbers.

Mr. 5 posts, The blower has nothing to do with the car being down if you actually read, its the head gasket. The seals are easy fixes as it doesn't take long to replace and is not too expensive. Turbos go out all the time with inadequate lubrication of oil due to oil starvation in the lines to the turbine, shaftplay and oil blowby thru your charge piping the same way a centrifugal blower can.
