that aint bad ... if it's tomorrow you got the WHOLE weekend to tie things together

The turbo is back on. We haven't turned it up all the way yet. However, the car is moving out on 22psi. Pure turbos told me this turbo should be able to do 30 psi. The good news, is my exhaust back pressure ratio has dropped pretty dramatically. I'll let thatv35guy post more on that. But we have a lot of exhaust back pressure data on our cars with the 62mm turbine wheels and now with the 66mm turbine wheel.

nice ... where does 30psi put you on your compressor map?

I don't have compressor map for this turbo. The 64mm compressor wheel is Pure Turbos own design. So it's going be different from Precision's 6466. Pure Turbos says this setup is good for 900whp. However, I don't think it will do that on a VQ. I'm pretty sure it should do low 800's though.

respectable for sure ... Is 30psi is pushing you out of your efficiency range (probably not on a blower that size). Regardless - that's pretty stout - curious and excited for ya!

When I was talking to PureTurbos about upgrading my GT3582r to the Pure 6466, they told me their turbo won't start shining until 20psi and should be able to run up to 30. So 30 is probably on the upper end of it's efficiency range. Come October, when it cools off a bit more, I'll rent some dyno time and see how much power the car is making. I think I'm going to settle around 750whp, which should be 25ish psi, mainly because I'm using Eagle rods. I'm in the last semester of my degree, so next year I'll hopefully be gainfully employed. Then I can spend some $ to build another block with some better parts, then turn up the turbo for all it's worth. Thankfully my wife hasn't complained about the $ I've spent on the car while I've been in school.

I got a few of them floating around...you just need the pigtail?

Yes. I actually just got one off a guy locally. I'm having issues with the temp reading erratically. I replaced the sensor. However my issue came back. So with the car running whenever i touch the connector i can see the temp jump around. So I'm going to swap on a new connector and see if that does anything for me. Hope it does.

So, thatv35guy and I were out messing with my car the past couple of nights. On Monday night the car was over boosting. Fortunately the ProEFI kicked in and cut ignition. Turns out the set screws that hold the WG diaphragm to the plunger had backed out. So I put some blue locktite on them and reinstalled the WG. Last night we got the car back out and hit 20, 24, and 27 psi. The car pulls like a freight-train. I bought a Dragy so I could get some good data with the car. We were in Mexico attempting to do some 60-130 runs and the car apparently doesn't like going into 5th under power. I tend to power shift the car pretty hard 2-3-4 and it takes that just fine. But I couldn't get it into 5th without killing the time. I think a 3.3 rear gear may go into the car soon. Then I should be able to do 133 in 4th.

Yeah, it’s the same 1.06 T3 housing he was using with the GT3582R, just machined by Pure Turbos to accept their 66mm turbine wheel.
Car has a ProEFI exhaust bp sensor in the turbine housing. I’ve been logging the exhaust bp from 20 psi onwards, it’s been very consistent at 20, 24, and 27 psi, it’s seeing roughly 26-27 psi of exhaust bp (almost a 1:1 ratio). It was actually so low I made sure the EBP was rising consistently at light/part throttle situations.
For reference, his car has an unmodified PowerLab kit, Megan header, a 3” straight through exhaust, and the Pure GT35R/6466 turbo upgrade.

Yup, it's the T3 1.06. With the GT3582R we were seeing EBP in low to mid 40's. So I had a ratio of just over 2:1 EBP to boost. With the 66mm turbine wheel my EBP has dropped to 26. So I'm seeing a 1:1 EBP to boost ratio.
