Default Ordered VORTECH KIT today, my conscence got the best of me about Dreamworkes

OK Flame on.........Yes I was going to get the Dreamworkes kit and my conscence got the best of me. Worring about "is this kit for real, etc". and when would I get it??? They said Aprilish, but who knows theve been saying 90 days for 2 years. So I put that to rest and ordered my VORTECH kit from Extreme Automotive in Canoga Park, CA today. The cost for the unit was $4,350.00 and that includes shipping. The guy I worked with was Shawn. Really nice guy. He mentioned he has installed many Vortech kits and that all run around 312-316 rwhp out of the box. The highest out of the box was 334rwhp. He also said they are extremely safe "as is from Vortech", but I'd like to have mine tuned upto at least 335-340RWHP......he did mention 315rwhp is on stock 350Z.......my baseline RWHP is 256.......do you think I will be closer to 330RWHP out of the box? what will I need to do???? Any help would be great. I will keep this thread updated as I begin the tear down process of my ride tonight in preparation of the kit next week.

Good luck with the kit, I am also interested in the Vortech kit, so let us know how it turns out.

As for the power, your 256 RWHP dyno is pretty high to begin with, I would think you would be around 325-340 with the breathing mods you already have. Tuned (w/ R4 software) on 91 octane your should hit 350-360. Your setup looks about like the 396 RWHP (enthuzd?) setup, but he was on 93 octane I believe....

fluidz, I am going to watch this thread since this is the way that I am going to go. I am going to get the kit, install it myself and have it professionally tuned at a shop near me. What is the number for Extreme Automotive?

All I can say is this is for real and they are and have been taking pre-orders....and yes it is highly guared from other competators....I bet in a few years you will see this unit or one very similiar on production 350Z's. Nissan, Alpine and Dreamworkes are all involved in this supercharger. Dreamworkes has over 30 pre-orders to date if im not mistaken. I will be told on March 8th when my Stage II kit is being shipped to me!!!!! I was informed yesterday I was one of the few to be issued a Stage II kit under partial sponsorship.........WHO HOO!!!!!!......Now answer this.......if this is a scam, why would Dreamworkes and Alpine issue a huge Sponsorship to me (35%+) of a Stage II kit and ask for no money untill it is ready to ship???? I'm on board babe and this is the one!
Fluidz, What happen to all that? The sponsorship? What changed for you?

What happened is that Dream works in not for real...Have you ever heard of ANY of their products before???NO..Look at their website and all the BS that spews forth from them..They sound like snake oil salesmen.. They claimed to be producing all these F/I 2003 350Z's with 400+hp,yet not one car has been rumored to even exist..Any company thats in the BRONX NY is a scam..

the sponsorship was real, I THINK......... Im just to chicken to go thru with it I guess, and I got the Vortech kit for the same as the sponsored price from DW, so I think i made the right choice. BASICALLY MY CONSCIENCE TOOK OVER.

My advice is to find a tuner who has the R4 software and can modify the programming of your SplitSecond box. That way you can be assured you are getting conservative A/F and timing levels without running rich. I predict something in the 375+ range if you can find someone to do that for you.

You're using the word "conscience" which makes it sound like you did something wrong. Do you mean "anticipation" instead?

I mean I had a gut feeling something could go wrong with the DW deal, but I was not letting my first instinct win, but i gave in on my first instinct and bought the Vortech. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the reply fluidz. daking350 , I can't vouch for DW because I don't know them but, Alpine Dev is for real. I'm thinking DW just got lucky and got a deal selling Alpine's SC's This waiting is getting old though. I'm not holding my breath, just curious.

Well I've emailed Dream Workes and asked if I could stop by their shop to check things out since I'm near the Bronx and never heard back from them. I'd go there and take pictures of their so called Z's and post them here for everybody. I have a G35 coupe and was also waiting for this kit but I smell ******** like everybody else. Now I'm thinking about the JWT kit.

Keep us posted, I'm very interested in this kit, but if the DW is out by the time I'm ready for purchase (not likely) I'll go that route.

Tuned properly with the baseline of 256whp I would expect you to be in the 370-380 range on the same dyno used for the baseline. Just make sure your tuner has a program to tune the split second box. I have seen 2 vortech kits on the G35 Sedan and G35 coupe. The Sedan(zimbo) made 217whp baseline and 330whp with Vortech and tuned to 11.5-12 a/f. The coupe(dollar99) I believe made 234whp baseline and 349whp with Vortech and tuned 11.5-12 a/f. Good luck and happy boosting the V2 sounds sweet
