No kidding! Sorry to scare you in my PM. My car wouldn't shift and I was very concerned, to put it lightly.

LOL. Actually, only one person is allowed to touch my tuning; Jason Seibel from Pro-EFI. The funny part is, he's the one that changed it! I think he just forgot what levels I had it set at and thought that 15 was my high setting, rather than low. Either way, he needs to have some time with the car and will in a few weeks. I also will dyno it again, since it hasn't been dyno'd with a built transmission (only a "pretend" built transmission ).

What I do in my own car is keep the Torque Converter unlocked when racing it. I have a switch that interrupts the signal of the wire going into the TC Lock up solenoid. The reason I do this is because while in boost the lock up clutch(s) may (depending on how much torque of course) slip, which will then cause more heat, debris in the fluid, etc...

Yes, running it without the TC being locked will produce more heat but its better than heat coming from slipping clutches/band.

i've done the VB upgarde, and IMO don't go for it if u have 350whp+... it doesn't do much really.. you'll be better off beefing up ur tranny instead, or even swap in a 6MT.

upgrading shouldn't take more than couple of hours. i'd say 4 to 5hrs including removal/installation of the VB.. cost wise, i paid around $200, but mechanics here charges are different.

I had mine done locally (WA) and it was 7-8 hours labor. Depending on the labor rate of the mechanic expect around ~7-800 for install.

Transmission definitely does not come out of the car for the install so if you spoke to a shop, received an estimate and that's what they told you go then I'd go somewhere else.

It is easy as long as you follow the directions.
The trans fluid is not cheap.
If you have up-rev tune just try the reprogramming
with your tuner it works great. I installed the valve body
kit as well as having the reprogramming.

Big difference and you will need an external trans cooler as well.

If installed correctly, the benefit should be noticeable no matter how much power the car has. I'm at 450whp+ and the Transgo VB works great.

Yeah shifting is shifting. What the vb wont do is give you any additional capacity to retain torque. Get the vb to tighten your shifts- not your clutchpacks.

Reviving an old thread. I cannot remember which of the hard lines is in or out. Does anyone remember?

Also, has anyone replaced the hard lines? My trans cooler currently runs a line clamped onto the hard line. I'm going to look in the FSM but I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has already done this.

The attached diagram shows which one is which.

My hard lines were replaced with braided line.
